just to be a pain in the ass what is/was a proper footballer.

.....I'll get pelters for this but I call McKenzie a circus footballer, a bag of tricks and full of entertainment but not fully effective in respect of contribution. He could on occasion be a match winner but that was few and far between. Have a look at the mid 80s squad, home and away pulling together and collectively contributing to a winning effort - proper footballers. Deulofeu is a bag of tricks but effective and geared to creating chances and breaking at pace.

McKenzie could jump over a mini and throw a golf ball a million miles, he had a fine game in that semi-final at Maine Rd. I liked him but if I was a manager he wouldn't be top of my wish list.

It's the risk you run with players of his type I guess

I don't really know enough about him to comment to be honest, but I'm aware he's extremely popular with certain supporters

ok opinion respected. old days opinion (mine) is glass tinted I admit. but I still think all good players are the same. we see every season a player who stands out ie vardy this season it happens all the time. but for us old ones ( not including you lol) we take it as it is.

Not really sure what overrated means, in this context. Like Peter Reid was superb for us, in them sides, but he was by no means a superb player. Just fitted perfectly into what HK built.

Weird typing that. Peter Reid. Overrated.
You mean Peter "PFA Player of the Year" was overrated? He was a fantastic player.

He's alright just wanted to see if anyone would fume.

Hey, I used to have same situation with Gibson about 2-3 years ago

I've always thought he was alright, but nothing more than that

I swear people used to go about him like he was the next Paul Breitner on here sometimes

You'll probably get a few who will agree with you

I just bloody love Jimmy Mac. I enjoy a perfect McCarthy tackle more than I enjoy a goal sometimes
