About a year ago, I would have said Gibson, but the bloom seems to be off the rose for some with him now
I've always thought he was a good player, but some people would describe him as being one of the best CM's in the League
Ever since the injuries and legal issues, quite a few have cooled on him
Best CM at the club until Barkley drops deeper when we sign Yarmo
Dixie Dean
I give the thread 2 more pages at best
William Ralph Dean
I wouldn't be so sure about that, Michael.
I wouldn't say he was over rated to be fair
Any player who scores that many goals en route to a League Title deserves all the plaudits one can muster IMO
Plus, there's the imprint he left on wider culture
If I were to take a guess, I would suggest @efcjames like me was being facetious.
There are two names associated with Everton that stand above everyone else, one is Dixie Dean and the other is Howard Kendall.
just to be a pain in the ass what is/was a proper footballer......the best players were good most of the time, the great players were good all of the time. I understand why fans liked McKenzie and he was entertaining to watch but not a proper footballer in my view.

Fellaini in the first 2 thirds of his time here.
Seriously though, James McCarthy is a beast
He's captain elect IMO. I'm perturbed that Barry's been getting the armband during Jagielka's absense
I must respectfully disagree with those who would say Jimmy Mac is over rated
Big, BIG fan, and I'm man enough to admit that I had my reservations when we spent so much money on him
It was worth every penny
