New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Embarrassing, that. Shouting and screaming at coppers who’ve been assigned to the match, about rapists and murderers, when they’re rightly stopping bunking in, by the looks of it.

Cooper should have said that's why i'm up here looking after you two.

To be fair West Ham have been relegated 4 times in my lifetime, it seems a stretch to pin a potential 5th one on the stadium.

They earn well above the average PL clubs, it's recruitment that's letting them down.

So they have better managers and players but there win percentage at Goodison is miles away from their win percentage at Anfield.

Keeping in mind you said crowds don’t influence games, why do you think there is such a discrepancy between the win percentages?

The derby is a one off, great if we could carry that to other games, but we don't.

An average of 1 extra point per season isn't changing the landscape dramatically.

A marginal effect ? Otherwise surely the media darlings Newcastle would have won the league in the last 100 years. Good players and managers win games, not so good ones dont
Your bottom part is pretty obvious, the fans wont turn you from dog pooh to great. but they certainly still play their part..

Fans can't make you a better player/manager, but they can certainly lift your spirit..

The atmosphere will continue to stagnate and potentially even get worse while the club does nothing to give supporters something to cheer about and be proud of. The powers that be stupidly built up this season into being some magical fresh start when In truth its just more of the same. I get it "slow and steady progress" isn't a great selling point but if they'd been more honest with us, I think expectations would've been different and people would've felt less let down. Its hard to get excited for what we have right now. The only positive the club has had going for it for years now has been the stadium, the light at the end of the tunnel that we could look to for better times so the fact that we've just had more of the same? Yeah that's gonna lead to a quiet and pretty depressed fanbase. Its now on the club to fix that. Give us something to shout about. Give us something to be proud of and watch as the magic returns and the atmosphere becomes electric. It truly wouldn't take very much for us to be postive about after being starved of positivity for so long, so come on Everton. Pull your bloody fingers out and give us something to sing about!

I went to a dozen matches at Goodison last season and it was always a morgue, aside from the final game.

This idea that Goodison was some sort of fortress is a fantasy.

Goodison had become notorious for being a morgue and we won just 5 matches at home last season. And that was the big farewell season.
Thing is you forget the team got dragged through by us at goodison in relegation battles we've had recently only for the intimidating atmosphere at goodison we would have gone down...

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth. Take those two games out of the equation and there's zero difference between Goodison and BMD. I see no reason whatsoever that the atmosphere of those two games can't be replicated at our new home. It wasn't the ground, it was the fans and the occasion that made the difference.

I hope we never find Out because I never want to live through those circumstances again

I know a lot of you have got a weird infatuation about the new ground but it'll never in a million years be as intimidating or hostile to the opposition as Goodison was at its horrible best.
Goodison didn't intimate anyone for years. Do you seriously think it was Goodison that got us over the line against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace rather then the fans baying for blood? Goodison hasn't been at its "horrible best" for close to twenty years. Your nostalgia goggles are blinding you to reality.

It's possible it won't be as intimidating, the fans were very close to the players at Goodison and no doubt that played a part in how intimidating some players may have found it (it's not the only thing that can be intimidating though, so it's only a possibility not a certainty) but Goodison was just a building and buildings aren't hostile. It's the people in the ground who are hostile, so there's no reason there has to be any difference in that respect at the new ground.
