New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I'm saying that you greatly over empathise its importance. All the singing in the world, won't make a crap team good. I agree though, we're going in circles. Lets leave it here. Have a good day mate.👍
Okay, I can certainly accept you having a different view on the importance.

It does matter - but we can disagree on the extent to which that is true.

Peace out. ☮️

I think West Ham’s stadium is awful but I kind of agree with you . The RS played Marseille the other night , place was bouncing and I thought they’d have a problem but they seemed to have no issue .

Stadium atmosphere and the debates puts me in mind that the discussion feels like it’s the antithesis of that Steve Archibald quote about team spirit being
"an illusion glimpsed in the aftermath of victory".

It never seems to come up when teams are winning . See West Ham , us and the RS

there is no difference between the atmosphere at goodison and at the new stadium

stop peddling the false narrative that goodison had a "boss atmosphere"

so boss that we only won 5 times there last season

The people that don't think it does, haven't played on the pitch.

Every lunging tackle, every quick break, anything that get's the crowd off there seat adds another boost in a players mind, it's like an extra injection of adrenaline..

It also plays the exact same way once booing hits the atmosphere, it reduces all the above..
I agree with that. For close games it makes a difference. I think as well when its one of those periods where we're struggling and the negativity starts, the singing can turn the negative energy into positive support and that can help turn the game or even a season in a different direction. Its also about enjoyment. Some games are crap, a routine win regardless of the support but it just makes it more enjoyable

Liverpool doctor evicting locals for asylum immigrants…
‘The agent who wrote to Parliament Place landlords promoting the asylum seeker deal signed off the correspondence as 'Mike Murphy'. The BBC understands this to be Michael Murphy, at the time a partner at major Liverpool law firm and Everton stadium sponsor Hill Dickinson.’

So, what your saying is the Hill Dickinson Stadium sponsorship is funded by the housing of asylum seekers?

On the stadium atmosphere, I think its us that get most from it tbh. I used to drink with a lad that played Union for Wales, and the biggest crowd he played in front of was ~50k. He said it was deafening when they walked out and overwhelming when the anthems etc were played, but the moment the whistle went he couldn't really hear anything because he was so tuned into his teammates voices. You could hear stuff when the ball went out, or try scoring moments and that, but generally he said he could have been playing anywhere when he was actually involved in the game. Im pretty sure footballers are the same. Its why they probably say how great the support was if we win, they only really experience it at the games biggest moments.

I love the new stadium , I love my seat and I’m made up with those sat around me but I did wonder if we were at goodison we might have had more of a chance of snatching a winner but perhaps that’s rose tinted glasses .

In contrast I was talking to someone Who was in hospitality Monday and they said from where they where sat the place was rocking .

The place was up for it from about 5-10 minutes before th goal went in and up until injury time when we then conceded a succession of corners

Brighton, forest and palace games showed the atmosphere in the stadium can be deafening and can influence the result positively for us

I’ve only been in south lower so can’t comment for what it feels like in other stands but at times it’s felt louder than what I’ve felt in the gwladys (or paddock, bullens where I’ve also sat regularly)

People really are wrapped up in the nonsense idea that football stadiums have the slightest impact on teams winning football games. Its unreal. For years and year Arsenal have been regarded as a joke Highbury was called a library and the new place was regarded as ten times worse. The worst they've had to put up with in the PL era is something like 6th place. They'll either win the league or just miss out in it this season so lets not have any nonsense pretending that a stadium makes a difference. Good teams giving fans something to cheer about is was makes for a good atmosphere. Do you think Sunderland had a good atmosphere when they where losing most weeks? Leeds definitely didn't when they had to tape off a whole upper section of one of their stands years ago. Are they better then us at home right now? Sure. Because they both have more to cheer about. They both got promoted last season and even if all they achive is to stay up, that still feels different enough to what they've beem doing to make it somewhat fun and exciting. Just doing that season after season after season with no end in sight like we have is a bit different!
Liverpool have won just about every derby at Anfield over the last 10 years but have only won one Goodison derby in 10 years.

Why do you think that is?
