New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

People really are wrapped up in the nonsense idea that football stadiums have the slightest impact on teams winning football games. Its unreal. For years and year Arsenal have been regarded as a joke Highbury was called a library and the new place was regarded as ten times worse. The worst they've had to put up with in the PL era is something like 6th place. They'll either win the league or just miss out in it this season so lets not have any nonsense pretending that a stadium makes a difference. Good teams giving fans something to cheer about is was makes for a good atmosphere. Do you think Sunderland had a good atmosphere when they where losing most weeks? Leeds definitely didn't when they had to tape off a whole upper section of one of their stands years ago. Are they better then us at home right now? Sure. Because they both have more to cheer about. They both got promoted last season and even if all they achive is to stay up, that still feels different enough to what they've beem doing to make it somewhat fun and exciting. Just doing that season after season after season with no end in sight like we have is a bit different!
Think it does every now and then mate definitely

Liverpool have won just about every derby at Anfield over the last 10 years but have only won one Goodison derby in 10 years.

Why do you think that is?
Because they've had far better teams and managers then us for the most part. Combine that with a total losers mentality that's been inflicted on the club and is the biggest legacy that Bill Kenwright left the club with and its hardly shocking that we never win at the Klanfiled.

So they have better managers and players but there win percentage at Goodison is miles away from their win percentage at Anfield.

Keeping in mind you said crowds don’t influence games, why do you think there is such a discrepancy between the win percentages?

I said its importance is greatly over emphasised. Of course, it can make a difference, but it's nonsense to pretend that it's as important as some on here make it out to be.

The atmosphere is crap everywhere with crap teams. I'm sure West Ham fans hate it, its not a football venue or even close to one. But its not having an impact on results. If it was they wouldn't have won a trophy so recently.
It's not just that at West Ham, that stadium is just completely unsuitable for football if you are at the back of one of those stands you are absolutely miles away from the footy. It's terrible.

I agree. West Hams stadium is objectively a terrible place to watch football. Its an athletics vanue that's wrongly been used for football. I still maintain that the lack of atmosphere at it is not the real reason that Weat Ham are currently struggling though. They finished 7th and 9th at the same ground and have won a cup too. The reason West Ham are struggling is for similar reasons to us under Moshiri. They are an appallingly run club. It wouldn't matter if they had the best stadium and atmosphere in the world with the idiots they have in control.

I think fans tend to overestimate their impact on a game, generally. I'm not saying there is no effect on performance but I'm sure it's way down the list of factors. But West Ham's general atmosphere is terrible and it's not just down to poor performances it's because it's essentially impossible to generate an atmosphere in that giant flat bowl they call a stadium.

So if I go through with a mars bar I lose it? Perhaps I can queue to get it back after the game. When I asked why they were stopping me the lad just smiled and waved me through. The guy in front was not so lucky. He had emptied keys and coins into a tray. What a farce.
