Moyes still looking to do some business

Gutted Spurs will probably spend 50m over the next week, and most if not all of it will have been generated from selling distinctly average players such as Dawson, Bassong and the hugely overrated Modric.

Levy is the man when it comes to selling players, like. Still I reckon they might struggle this year, Spurs.

Aye deffo, and whoever is in charge of Liverpool's outgoing, too. Tbh I was surprised they only got a million for Kuyt, was convinced somebody would pay about 8m for him!

I think it's generally fair to say you could take one of our players, dress him in a Liverpool or Spurs shirt and he'd instantly be worth 50% more to the selling club.

hasn't kuyt scored 5 in 5 for fener or something, terrible sale

A Moutinho round about now would be superb.

I wonder what his price is these days anyway.

Just shows what a great eye Moyes has for players. We almost him for the 'paltry' sum of about £16 - 18 million a few years back. He ended up forcing a transfer to Porto for only about €12 million, though at the time I doubt we could even have afforded that. He was one of the best players at the Euros I thought, and I cant believe he's only 25. Quality player.

The perfect final week of the transfer window would be bringing Niang, Ince and a deep lying playmaker like some have mentioned in. If this would ever happen it would need an outgoing and I could see that being maybe Coleman (make-weight for Ince) or Anichebe personally.

Niang would give us some future up top, Ince would complete the RM (I'm not certain that Mirallas would make it as a RM in the Prem, can see him behind the striker more). Finally, a deep lying playmaker as someone that just doesn't give the ball away while pinging off some great passes (the type with 85%+ passing percentage).

Anyone in mind for deep lying playmaker type?

It's hard to pin-point one, as it completely depends on our budget and what not. I left it as a general term because I think this is where Moyes finds a gem - DLP's aren't cheap by any means and for us to afford one it would require another Moyes masterclass. I would have liked to see Borja Valero playing for us (he was sold this summer for maybe £5m), I would generally want someone or his and Arteta's ilk.

It's an area where there are many gems to be found, as even Joe Allen hit a massive pass percentage last season.

As I guess we don't have the cash to sign three playes, my choice would be Manuel Fernandes. If he's still on a free that is. Seems you either love him or hate him, with no middle way allowed. Personally I've always been a fan and think he could do a job for us.

He would fit the role perfectly in my eyes, although I have a feeling that deal is dead as he probably has a hefty price once more.

I wouldn't object to it personally. Whether or not he wants to remains the issue. An odd thing keeps happening though, because of our infinite possibilities for once, my mind keeps drawing a blank when trying to think of any players myself. I just get overwhelmed with choice, it's never happened before.

We should never have ended this transfer window looking for a CM. Of all the areas on the park we needed to improve on that was NOT one of them. You have to ask what sort of transfer window it is when at the end of it people are saying we're short there.

That £6m (that's bare minimum by the way, convinced we got more than £12m for Rodwell...) will go down the back of the sofa.

I think we got £15m+ for Rodwell but it's hidden for one of two reasons - we either don't want other teams to know what we have, or it's going to "other operating costs" before too long.

I know what one I'd bet on...

We may be far from short of CM's, due to having the likes Barkley and Junior waiting for the chances, but we really don't have a deep lying playmaker - and haven't since losing Arteta.
