Mike Walker did exactly what Moyes has done, which is not get us relegated, he didn't win us anything either but he kept us going as a club, still in buisness and still engaged in the same sport we were before. That's what it's all about.
You're arguing that winning trophies is incidental as long as the manager still has us playing football and doesn't shut down the club to buiild a golf course there instead.
