Moyes is now my favourite Evertonian of all time

*sigh*

You're embarrassing yourself now.

That's not what I said - You and I and everyone else knows it, too.

You're arguing that winning trophies is incidental as long as the manager still has us playing football and doesn't shut down the club to buiild a golf course there instead.

Mike Walker did exactly what Moyes has done, which is not get us relegated, he didn't win us anything either but he kept us going as a club, still in buisness and still engaged in the same sport we were before. That's what it's all about.

Nobody is arguing that we should have done better in cup competitions but the fact that you are using Mike Walker as a barometer for Everton managers just goes to show how far Moyes has taken us.

Granted, I've only been following the club since the last two years of Walter Smith's reign but it amazes me to an extent, that someone could come into some stick on an Everton forum because they support Moyes.

I mean are there really that many Evertonians that don't rate Moyes and want to get rid of him?

Yeah, he drives me up a wall sometimes (last year especially) but there still isn't anyone I'd rather see at the helm than him at present.

Call me a cynical, but somebody joins this forum, with the username 'teameverton' and their very first post is declaring how Moyes is the greatest Evertonian of all time.

And the thread's still going 6 pages later, with people giving the poster the benefit of the doubt and assuming this isn't a massive wind up?

RAWK is in many ways a horrible forum, but to their sole credit, they make it much harder to register on there and start wind ups, than it is to do so on here.

Are you actually being serious?

Mike Walker took us to within a Hans Segers *ahem* mistake, of the Championship & was then sacked after a 'glorious' 10 months in charge which saw us sat bottom of the league when he was canned & he left with the worst post war record of any Everton manager.

To compare him to Moyes, shows that you've not got a clue imo lad, absolutely ridiculous.
