Moshiri on Jim White show on TalkSport today....

That interview was utterly depressing. Someone placing themselves at the epicentre of all good things and pointing the finger at others in terms of tough decisions that may go wrong in the future. And how he's got the brass neck to defend that summer inactivity I dont know.

This feller's game is to minimize as much cash invested in the squad ("Koeman told me a player like that would be too expensive"...yeah right...dog whistle in place though for the transfer windows) and to get a stadium of some description built and then, as you say, he's selling.
Do just pick things out and spin them your way, Dave? The "too expensive" bit was just about RK's sense of humour.

Nobody going to make a comment on this?

When reading between the lines I always believe the simplest answer to be the right one...

WE'RE RICH!, RICH BEYOND OUR WILDEST DREAMS, DIRTY STINKING ******* RICH!!!

Let's hope he sells up at Arsenal quickly as it's a well known fact that footballers are attracted to Russian billionaires like moths to a flame.

Ironically it's excactly the type of interview Dave wanted him to give a few months back

Lots of people me included were saying the same. I just don't think we expected it to be as slap dash as a Phone in with Jim White. I still think he's a robot.

Good interview and seemed genuine. The stadium issue is the big one for me and it was good it was covered in more than just a passing reference.
Also surprised he was willing to mention a few players they went after and the fact they were let down by the players and not for the want of trying. Coaxing top class players here is the hardest part and not always just throwing money at agents will work. Hopefully some of the transfer threads on here will be more realistic in future (as if).

Now just awaiting the AGM date and some stadium news.

  • You'll see how debt free we are when the AGM comes around
  • The money was there in the summer ONLY after Stones was sold
  • The stadium is still a distant dream and certainly less advanced than a couple of schemes that we had underway when Kenwright was calling the shots.
Let's deal in facts shall we rather than spin.

Facts? Ah yes, Davek facts. Should have been more specific mate...

Still laughing about all the stick people had given me on here over the past few days regarding Moshiri.

Looks like I pretty much nailed it before he even did the interview.

Remember that poster who was trying to say I was wrong to call Moshiri the 'majority shareholder', when Moshiri himself used those exact two words to describe himself during the interview?lol

Or that other fella who was claiming Moshiri hadn't put a penny into the club and I mentioned he'd paid off the debts?lol

Very heartened by everything he said, and glad I kept the faith.

Unless he's acquired a few extra shares that nobody knows about yet then no he is not the majority shareholder.

It is also unconfirmed that we are debt free and in fact I read it that the "paid the debt" (without listening again wasn't it singular?) comment was about the Pru loan and nothing else.

Some people like to deal in facts that are proven by documents not an interview with Jim White.

The poster you ridicule is a stickler for paperwork and I wouldn't be so quick to deride him

Edit: he mentions "debt" and later on "debts" he says the later in relation to Goodison and the restrictions they placed on us moving.

I doubt we'll ever be 'debt free' He has however, it seems, freed us from the restrictive debts. That's all he needs to do to move us forward. There are very few businesses that are entirely free of debt.

It doesn't mean the club is free of debt. The AGM will demonstrate that. And you can be sure if Moshiri has paid off that securitization repayment rather than the club (by no means certain) it'll be going back into his account at a later date and so is effectively debt.

Another Davek fact? Mate, you post personal (and mostly negative) opinion and present it as 'fact'. You know what? You may even turn out to be right on this particular point, but if the outcome is that the club has released itself from a suffocating debt restriction and then re-levered on more flexible and commercially viable terms, isn't that a positive? Do you really expect people who have worked hard to make a fortune to just come and give it away to a cause that has the potential to be a bottomless hole (ie. Owning a football club)? He is using his business acumen - AND some financial clout / liquidity - to put the club on a sound footing to support itself. Strangely, in the real world, that actually includes having debt, in a form that is manageable and sustainable.

And don't bang on about him taking the club on to strip assets and grab the Sky booty - that's such a naive argument in the current paradigm.
