Makes sense for the new ground to have a sponsor. But not GP. Can't say I like the sound of that.

But nonetheless I'm cautiously impressed by what I heard today.

....i understand it all links to fair play rules and income to use on transfer related salaries. The more income we can generate the greater scope we have.

I don't know what more people want from this bloke in the short space of time he's been here, he's already been wonderful for the club for the following reasons;
  • THE DEBT IS GONE. He's not lying when he says that, it really is gone. The club owes absolutely zero.
  • The money for transfers is there and ready to spent. The problem now is just convincing players to come here.
  • The stadium has progressed more in 6 months than it had done in 6 years previously. A realistic site has been chosen and the local government, who are much more in the know than any of us, are for the first time convinced that it will happen.

The bloke can't wave a magic wand and turn us into world beaters with a sick stadium over night, this stuff takes time. Even Man City when they were bought out didn't become a Champions League team straight away, they had an awful lot of things to do first to get there. They had to replace their crap manager with a winner, chuck out the old guard who'd been at the club for years but achieved nothing and convince some superstar players that they were a club that worth coming too and taking forward. We've already starting doing all of that.

I don't believe this interview was just a lame attempt to placate fans after a terrible result, but even it was, would people seriously just prefer it if we went back to having Kenwright go missing off the face of the Earth for 6 months and Elstone telling fans we're a disgrace when we ask uncomfortable but fair questions? Least Farhad wants a friendly dialogue and has taken it upon himself to start it off.

He deserves our trust and support, not to be scorned by the habitual cynics who would prefer if the club remained potless with zero ambition for the rest of existence.

.
  • You'll see how debt free we are when the AGM comes around
  • The money was there in the summer ONLY after Stones was sold
  • The stadium is still a distant dream and certainly less advanced than a couple of schemes that we had underway when Kenwright was calling the shots.
Let's deal in facts shall we rather than spin.

"We were governed by covenants from the banks over redeveloping Goodison or moving to a new stadium. I paid the debt and removed those covenants. We are now free to do as we please and go where we please"

To quote Moshiri.

Does that constitute a fact?

With all due respect not really, we all know the Pru charge has been satisfied but there are others still there.
