Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

In other news (just popped up on my Facebook memories) it is 34 years ago today that I started work at Birkenhead Land Registry. I can still remember that I wore a navy blue and white pleated skirt and a white blouse. This was after I had turned down an offer from the boss of the lab I was working in at Unilever to match my LR wages if I stayed (I'd turned down a few other offers from him but that"s a whole other story!) Birkenhead indirectly led me to meeting Mr F and moving to the north east. In a parallel universe there is the person who stayed at Unilever. I wonder what she's doing now?!
She's my sister in law . Left CF Mott went to Unilever and stayed until she retired. Now running an animal rescue.

All things considered you had a close call.

Hello friends.

Having a busy days at work, at home and with the family that’s why I haven’t been able to visit as much. This is my first summer working full-time while my daughter is out of school too so we all have been adjusting to the new schedule but things are going really well. My brother still is staying with us so I’m still playing hostess. And I also been having to spend a lot of time on a task my supervisor gave me regarding our college strategic plan. I been outlining what equity and diversity means to me as part of my work and our College's mission and core purpose, putting this together has taken me some time but I finished today and I'm ready to have a bit more of free time again.

We also went to Virginia this past weekend to visit my husband's dad for father's day. It was nice spending time with him and his gf and the weather was fabulous so we got to go for hike on Saturday. Here in Asheville it has been too hot and humid, it doesn't feel as if we are at the mountains.

I have been enjoying reading everyone’s conversation and loving all the pics too, even if I haven’t commented on every post.

Have a good Thursday beautiful people. Xxx

Alright all ,

Another sunny day in paradise.

Rosie doing fine , just have to carry her up and down the stairs and not let her run in the garden but otherwise she's back to normal.

Maybe too hot for gardening today , so might just sit in the sun and listen to the test match.

I was exhausted yesterday after cutting all the hedges ( @Barnfred 55 - you will see what I mean next week ) and made the error of sitting in the sun with a well deserved beer. That led to another and then me and Mrs J had a bottle of vino whilst we watched the last episode of the Staircase. So much for not drinking in the week - schoolboy error.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning all, looks like being another hot and sunny one. Postponed our afternoon walk yesterday until the evening as it was so hot. We met a lady putting out her bins and stopped to say hello, didn’t know her but it turned out that her brother was Mr. G’s teacher at secondary school! Talked for quite a long time and both thought we may have been the only people she had spoken to all day. So had to cut short the walk and took a Pathway which cuts through what is left of a large spinney, loads of bats flying through the trees. Still light when we returned home at 10pm, love these long evenings. Good to hear from you @Sassy Colombian, hope the weather clears for you, I hate the humidity, it’s so draining, rather have the air cool and clear. Have a good day, everyone.?

Well I've had the deadly deed done (the haircut) and now having a child's brunch at my fave cafe overlooking Falmouth Harbour. It's scorchio and I've got my jeans on. Damned weather forecaster. I'm bloody roasting.

Going to see the dinosaurs later then maybe a quick beer before coming home.
Have a great day everyone.

How would it feel if you didn't need to travel back home Fred? Do you think you could take the tourists 24/7 ?
We are promised 29° today so just in case we are taking in a fair amount of liquids :)

Oops I meant to add that I have just been speaking to my old doctor about Covid ,he says that although the death rate is high it is the very old that are dying 85+ and that most of those are in nursing homes ,due to their age they are not admitted into intensive care because it will inevitably lead to complications and will be simply a drain on resources. We don't know what to think about those facts ,I can see both sides but it seems very "clinical". Thoughts please on a postcard.
