Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone,

Is there anything more frustrating than waiting in for a delivery.

I was waiting on a parcel all morning. At 1pm I got an email saying it would be delivered between 5 and 7pm.

As you know they send you a tracking number so you can check the progress of your delivery so at 5pm I logged on to see I was delivery no. 40 and the driver was buzzing around Burscough on no.23.

By 6.45pm I was next delivery. The driver got to within 1/2 mile then turned around. Next thing they were at Starbucks in Bickerstaffe and stayed there for 30min before driving back to the depot in Huyton.

So , no delivery and no reply to my very irate phone calls and emails.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning all, on this lovely day. Woke from a dream this morning where we had moved home to Worthing, the bathroom was in the kitchen, toilet next to the gas stove and next doors’ access to their house was through our living room. What was that all about? Mr G says I watch too much Homes Under the Hammerlol. Should explain for those that don’t know its’s property programme following people who buy derelict homes at auction and do them up. Hope Rosie is feeling better @jazzy and that you are continuing to feel better @Terrarian. How are things @Methuselah, hope you the project didn’t go Pete Tong and was successful @fandjango. See you are still lowering the tone @Barnfred 55, (brown knickers) do your posh neighbours realise lol Have a great day, everyone.?

Anyway , in other news Rosie had a good night's sleep whilst me and Mrs J didn't as we were on tenterhooks.

She seems 90% back to her usual self today , we just need to keep her calm and not jump about and tear her stitches.

@Terrarian , she doesn't have a cone , just a T shirt.

Lovely day again but playing in the garden is strictly forbidden.
See Rosie is doing well, should have read on before posting. Je suis, Fred

That’s so annoying. Daughter-in-law had a similar experience, waiting all day only to be told the driver had run out of time so no delivery. Arranged for three days time, then informed the day before delivery that the item was out of stock?‍♀️. Just told them not to bother and got a refund.

My neighbours (of course) know that I am largely home based for work and arranged with me and the local Postman to drop parcels at mine if they aren’t answering. It works really well as it happens and I get wine and chocolates at Christmas out of it ;)

What goes on in the Messy thread stays in the Messy thread ;)

Good morning everybody. It is very warm today but has clouded over with some very angry looking grey clouds. Hope it doesn't rain. I'm off oit later to meet a friend for coffee and a catch up. Oldest child is visiting from Nottingham tomorrow for the weekend so that will be nice. He's moving in with his girlfriend next month and they are getting two kittens. Big commitment but she's lovely and they seem very well matched.

Glad Rosie is doing well @jazzy. Is she allowed to visit Granny or is that too exciting? Love the bathroom @Terrarian . @CahillsCornerFlag how are you feeling. Hope the symptoms are improving.

I'm really sad that it looks like Richy is going. Although he has been posting pics of him in his Everton kit on Instagram. I can't believe we might let him go for as little as £50m and to another Premier League club. Watch the media go from 'biggest diver in football ' to ' most fouled player in PL' if he signs for Chelsea or Spurs. Not that I'm cynical or anything.

Still no news on our missing neighbour. The house looks empty so I think she must be staying with friends somewhere.

Have a good day everyone x

I'm glad Mrs J is feeling better.

How's Rosie doing?

In other news (just popped up on my Facebook memories) it is 34 years ago today that I started work at Birkenhead Land Registry. I can still remember that I wore a navy blue and white pleated skirt and a white blouse. This was after I had turned down an offer from the boss of the lab I was working in at Unilever to match my LR wages if I stayed (I'd turned down a few other offers from him but that"s a whole other story!) Birkenhead indirectly led me to meeting Mr F and moving to the north east. In a parallel universe there is the person who stayed at Unilever. I wonder what she's doing now?!

This is one of the very few occasions when almost all fans are in agreement in wishing him well when he does go. The majority of the time there would be a lot of bitterness when one of our finest leaves. But in his case I think we all know that he is better than where we are at the moment, and the one thing you could never fault has been his attitude. Always worked his socks off.

I agree that we should be getting more than £50m for him though. Just shows the financial dilemma we find ourselves in.

A Sliding Doors moment. (Probably got the wrong film title knowing me lol)
