I would not call Stones not ready. He has been sitting on the bench foe over a week. I rather place my bet on Stones. A ready Alcaraz means fook all.
If he hadn't of pissed off Distin. He would have been a better bet but who was to know Alcaraz would have one of those games. Jags wasn't much better.

I don't think we will. We'll find a way to gift them a goal

Have you seen QPR? They're mercenaries to the last man. They don't actually play football.

There's only two sides I could see us beating ever playing like we have most of the season - Newcastle and QPR. Thankfully, both of them have lined up on the bounce to give us a bit of momentum.

We'll absolutely leather QPR, won't surprise me if it's three or four nil. But it means absolutely nothing in assessing Martinez performance, as we should be leathering QPR.

Imagine starting Atsu off the back of his ANC performance and ten mins against 10 man newcastle.

mayhem

I don't get it though. What evidence is actually there to suggest he's capable of turning it around next season and having us fighting for Europe again? We'll have several key players leaving, Tom Cleverley coming in, Gareth Barry and the Scottish Zidane still starting every game. But yeah, it's going to magically click into place one day![Poor language removed]
My long standing point. People have continued to maintain that Martinez has the ability to turn it around next season with his own players.

I would once say I tended to disagree. Now I almost certainly do disagree!

If he has been unwilling to change his approach this season, even though it has repentantly not worked, why would he then adapt next season?

While they may help vitalise the team, a summer break and a few extra signings are not going to alter Martinez's approach to football.

That is where the problem actually lies; his underlying philosophy began to degrade and is now crumbling at its foundations.

We're still going to be a shambles defensively as it's proven that it is not an area where he believes we should focus. Player choice is also woeful.

Furthermore, I'd expect us to still on a weekly basis attempt a floundering approach to scoring: meekly and ineptly attempting to pass our way.

This isn't a 'I love Moyes' comment either, but the mental qualities the squad clearly showed over numerous seasons have dwindled away.

Martinez last season gave us great times for which I am grateful, however I now believe that may have been merely a purple patch.

If he'd approached things differently then I may have more sympathy, whereas repeating the same approach even though it doesn't work...

... So long, farewell...

Did I say 'OK'?

It'll have the kneejerkers running in the opposite direction, that's for sure.

The posters on this forum cant take a consistent line on Martinez AT ALL.

It's frightening. Grown men acting like this.

Just ride out a bad season and do it with some dignity FFS.

Not too much to ask I dont think.

Try me

Look, every assessment of Martinez changes from game to game.

Can you take that seriously? Everyone nods in agreement when we win that Martinez needs more time; get beat and it's SACK HIM NOW FFS!!!!

It's ridiculous. I want no part of any of that.
Speak for yourself. Newcastle didn't sway me. It was Newcastle ffs.

So you'd rather be part of supporting a team like wigan?

Capable of beating newcastle but just as likely to lose to qpr

Roberto has to go...he lost 6-4 in Europe and didnt make the QF.

LOL.

Thank **** this hanging jury has absolutely no say in any decision about Everton.

So can I just ask what do you think will change next year with this man in charge come on hit me with it.

Its the players and the tactics mate.
He should have taken barry off and put gibson on at half time.
How can you cocede 5 goals with 2 defensive midfielders playing?
see thats the thing though. he set up with 2 defensive midfielders so we wouldn't ship goals but the defense played like crap. Wouldve played Besic over Barry but not sure how else we could've set up.
