Kone. Alcaraz. Barry. Atsu.

He paid a premium of Lukaku and McCarthy.

Right man to work under Everton's budget?
In fairness both Lukaku and McCarthy have been great signings. Rom scored a great goal today. As a striker you can't ask anything more.

However it's going the other way that Martinez has issues which was apparent at Wigan. We where a surprise package last season and teams didn't play to our weaknesses. This year they have and we and him have been found out.

Have you seen QPR? They're mercenaries to the last man. They don't actually play football.

There's only two sides I could see us beating ever playing like we have most of the season - Newcastle and QPR. Thankfully, both of them have lined up on the bounce to give us a bit of momentum.

We'll absolutely leather QPR, won't surprise me if it's three or four nil. But it means absolutely nothing in assessing Martinez performance, as we should be leathering QPR.

Hope you're right mate, maybe I'm just negative after that, but I think we'll draw. We are defensively woeful.

The way he has transformed our defence into that car crash is some achievement

Voted out as before but at the end of the season. No point getting rid now as we are not going down. One win and a few draws will see us safe.

I said in a previous poll I was worried he has favorites that will play regardless and tonights team selection confirmed it for me. We need to get rid in the summer before the squad is ripped apart even more. There's nobody around at the moment to change it now anyway.

I would not call Stones not ready. He has been sitting on the bench foe over a week. I rather place my bet on Stones. A ready Alcaraz means fook all.
my point was that Martinez always plays Stones in preference to Alcaraz. I had a bug the other week and it pretty much wiped me out for a fortnight. He's obviously not ready or else he would have started, or even come on at half time.
I suppose it says more for Distin's situation than anything else that Stones with a tiny percentage chance of playing was preferred for the trip that Distin. Other than that we're pretty light unless you're going to throw Galloway in there or perhaps Barry/Besic. Either way you can't really account for how bad Alcaraz was or how badly he was exposed by Coleman going missing and their attackers being so much better than the first leg.

Look at the league table.

Look at the subs tonight and throughout the season.

Look at Alcaraz actually completing the game tonight.

Look at the absolutely awful run of results which was utterly unimaginable in August.

Then come back and tell me exactly why Martinez shouldn't be sacked. Because you aren't even giving a counter-argument anymore - you're just laughing it off.

The good will from last season is completely gone, whereas you're hanging your hat on Kenwright not having the guts to sack him because you want to be right on the internet.

You're not an objective voice, tbf.

There is no argument that'll persuade you because your mind has been made up.

Did I say 'OK'?

It'll have the kneejerkers running in the opposite direction, that's for sure.

The posters on this forum cant take a consistent line on Martinez AT ALL.

It's frightening. Grown men acting like this.

Just ride out a bad season and do it with some dignity FFS.

Not too much to ask I dont think.

The problem you have davek is you banged the Martinez drum claiming he was the messiah and now he is mugging you off big style and your to stubborn to admit he's not the man. Also martinez backs this board and you said if he did you would think the same of him as you did of moyes? He's a clown and no idea how to organise a team

long time lurker, 1st time poster. everton fan for 30 years and iv never felt as low as this season watching my beloved blues. enough is enough. martinez has to go.

Absolutely. He got it massively wrong.

But you still expect your players to be above how they played tonight.

2 or 3.1 loss you can take. But 5?

I don't care about people saying Martinez doesn't work on defence. The back 4 are INTERNATIONALS and have shown this season that they can defend. To suddenly lose the ability to defend and organise is solely down to the players.

Just one huge coincidence that our squad of internationals look like a pub side then?

There's a reason managers get paid millions a year mate
