Keeping hold of Fellaini

I'm not saying he's only a defensive midfielder by le way Neiler. He was being judged on the goals and assists that he gets for us....so I was pointing out his main and best asset

We don't judge Beckford on the amount of clean sheets we keep

And thats fine if you think that, i've no problem with that. He's a good player, but he does have his limitations mate, he's managed appearances in just over half the Premier League games in the last two years too. Lets just say he's rated higher at Everton than he is outside Everton.

1.) The appearances are down to injuries though, not his quality. That slimy Greek kopite wrecked him last season.

2.) All good players are rated more by their own fans, because said fans see them week in, week out. This is why most outsiders seem to think our best player is Tim Cahill; because everyone can see his goal tallies and he gets talked about by the general media. Whereas Fellaini's game is less quantitative, and requires some time and intelligence to see and gauge. And the only coverage he gets is negative (disciplinary, cards etc).

Because he plays for us. No one is rated highly here.

Baines only turned peoples heads after the Chelsea away game this season, when he's been pretty much doing the same thing for the past 2 seasons.

We should just do what we did last time Real came sniffing round - make all our players get the same haircut to confuse them.

To be honest £25m+ unfortunately makes good business sense. He seems rather injury prone - averaging something like 25 games a season - and we could get two russian flops for that!

By the way, did those 'embarrassing' pics of him ever surface?

Intresting Stat:

Marouane Fellaini

Total Everton Appearences: 87
Total Everton Goals: 15

Steve Pienaar:

Total Everton Appearences: 133
Total Everton Goals: 12

*One excellent defensive midfeilder that Pienaar lid.

Fellaini played up front for a fair few of those games sir, so it's an unfair comparison.

What is a fairer comparison is Mr Coleman nearly scoring in one season as many goals as Mr Pienaar did in his entire time with us.

I honestly think that cookachoo is a kopite and has infiltrated our ranks, every post he makes has a slant on it that doesnt sit well with me, and its not only this thread, i,ve noticed it for a while now. I mean, bigging up lucas for a start is a dead give away, the fella is one of the worst midfielders ever to play for the ****e.

Where did i "big up" Lucas ? All i said was i didn't think they'd swap him for Fellaini. Its not bigging him up, its a matter of opinion, in fact its not even an opinion on the player. I wouldn't say its an outlandish claim to suggest Fellaini is overrated by a number of our fans.

Of course i'd have to be a Kopite, only a Liverpool fan on the wind up would dare to think Fellaini and Rodwell are anything other than World Class ! . :dodgy:

Real Madrid have deep pockets. that is not good for us. to lose fellaini and rodwell in the same summer would not be good for us. and the fact that rumors are flying around about both already means its gonna be alonggg summer for us toffees.

If I'm RM I want Fellaini. For them its all about beating Barca. They need someone to break up Barca's attack and possession and win balls. Fellaini would be good in that spot for them. And he's just sloppy enough on the tackle to be intimidating. Break up Barca's possession, win the ball, and distribute for a counter. He will not dominate Barca (no one can), but he certainly can disrupt them better than what they have now. Its not always about getting the best XI. Its about fielding a team that can win. Real can put me in the defensive midfield role and beat everyone in La Liga not named Barca, as well as some of the lower quality CL teams. They just need Fell for the games that matter (Barca, top flight CL clubs)

For 25M+ we should sell him hopefully out of the prem. The way he plays he's going to get injured frequently. I think we are better against the teams lower than us in the table when he is not in the lineup. He seems to crowd out Arteta and our passing in the attacking end is poor when we have the majority of possession. However he shines against the top 4-5, we'll defo miss him against the teams who have significantly more possession than us (Arse, Man Utd and probably City).
