Several worrying things in that article. First, the rise in antisemitic hate crime (which has been going on pre-this conflict). Second, the conflation of these crimes with Palestine protectors.
Difficult one to disentangle. There will be hot heads and idiots that go to protests. There's also other groups prone to antisemitism who may well be using this as an excuse to ramp up attacks.
But is it right to tar everyone with the same brush and stop protests? Arguably not.

The US top brass are in Israel to evaluate the plans being drawn up by the IDF and I’m guessing they don’t like what they see.
Given their own experiences of urban warfare in Ramallah and Sadr City I doubt very much that they would approve a military ground intervention in Gaza - hence the current impasse. Also recent experiences in Ukraine (Mariupol, Bahkmut) have shown that fighting in amongst rubble and urban ruin is painful, costly and takes a long time.
Also US protection of Israel comes at a price and that price is compliance. The white house is urging caution and trying to guide Israel down the diplomatic route. Whether Bibi takes the carrot is another matter.
Whether you’re a fan of The US or not it should be noted that they have good relations with most of the major players in the region like SA, Egypt, Turkey, UAE and Jordan. Realistically they are quite possibly the only hope of bringing these countries together to help solve this problem long-term.

If Israel had gone after Hamas in a proportionate and targeted way, we'd be behind them after the recent atrocities. Now they are doing the same. They both need condemning and both sides need to stop because innocent people on both sides are dying needlessly.
Because the occupation/invasion had stopped! How can Palestinians “get over their wars” when Israel continue to occupy and expand?

In 1982 it was decided that the IDF wouldn't go into Beirut because they'd suffer too many casualties. The IDF know only too well about urban warfare when the venture into Gaza and the West Bank. They only go in limitedly and have a corridor out. If they go deeper into Gaza then they line a long, long line for back up and pull back. Which leaves them very open.
The US brings to the table their experience in Fallujah. They had a 3 to 1 numerical advantage and suffered their worse loss of soldiers. To win they dropped Phospherous munitions and depleted uranium. And kill 3x civilians as fighters.
It is estimated that Hamas has 40 000 fighters.
The choice the the Israel national government have to consider is, are they prepared lose a lot of soldiers then have its hands tied with the policing aftermath. While other areas, West Bank and the Lebanese border area are/will kick off. Or ....
