Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

The people of the EU elect the European Parliament. The European Parliament then elects the Commission President. It's a democratic mandate.

That said, I look forward to the day when we have a direct election of the Commission President by the people. But given the national politics involved, I think we're some way off that yet.
My vote is for antoine de caunes.

Something I was thinking, why does Israel appear to hold to much sway globally? They're not a financial powerhouse, not a major manufacturer etc, so why do so many countries unconditionally support them?
Indeed, it does seem that a worldwide population of around 20 million does seem to enjoy a disproportionate amount of influence.
I would suggest that the Jewish populations in various countries, for example the U.K., the US and various nations within the EU seem to work together in gaining influence in these countries within politics, media, finance, industry etc. And then using this power and influence to the benefit of other Jews and Israel. Almost like a Cabal, but of course that would be anti-Semitic.
A recent and unsavoury example of this would be Jeffery Epstein, who would use secret cameras to blackmail prominent and powerful people.

Biden was on the news earlier saying that Palestinians are not Hamas and calling for restraint. Hopefully some kind of sense can buld from here.

The tone changed in the last few days after leaders originally went all in on bigging up Israels ability to defend itself. Imo they are just as reponsible for giving the green light for what is happening now and lets hope history remembers.

I think they were suprised at the outcry and fallout afterwards and are now trying to backtrack slightly.
