Current Affairs Irish Border and Brexit

I’m quite happy with this, Ireland has the final say. Just say it, deal or no deal, the choice is yours and the whole of the EU will back you up. Of course, if there is no deal then the rest of the EU will just drop you in it and try to do a different deal with the U.K. Ireland is being used, Ive said it before, this lot in Brussels couldn’t give a crap about Ireland, it’s all about political advantage. But hey, it’s your choice now, welcome to the big boys league......
I honestly fear that Ireland is just being used in the financial negotiations. The U.K. wishes only the best for Ireland because we are, irrespective of certain history, very close.......but, at the end of the day, whatever Ireland decides then Ireland will have to live with, just like us, and just like the rest of the EU......
I’m not sure if you do this wilfully or just ignore what is said. The U.K. does not want and will not put up a hard border. That’s it. We will not do it. There will be no hard border on the U.K. side. Nothing.......the only people going on about borders are the EU......Ireland are arguing with the wrong people, or sorry, are arguing with the U.K. as a way of arguing with the EU......

My first three posts in this thread ring as true today as they did at the beginning.......

Don’t be silly...this is precisely what the ‘hard done by’ Irish want to believe and will latch onto, and it does nothing to address the position we are all in.....

Sorry Peter, but that is what they said

I appreciate a truly fine citizen like your good self would be appalled at such bellicose language from people you make common cause with but don’t let your shame make you bury your head to such crassness.

An RAF fighter intercepts a Russian military transport plane on the borders of Estonia at the weekend.

Now tell me, do you believe that Estonia, or the other two Baltic states give a damn about a soft border between NI and ROI. Do you believe that they will happily see British military involvement removed......

Give me the names and the quotes....

After the bloodless right-wing coup last week they have lost the run of things and backed themselves into a corner, so they are now getting desperate and are resorting to threats and bullying against us.

Its good to have a united country and the might of 27 other EU countries as well as Irish America on your side.

Staying strong against the bullies.

And don’t forget the Liverpool Irish......me and @davek stand four square with our ancient sireland :celebrate:

It does. Once again you’re attitudes or actions were questioned and once again you struggled to find a way to defend them so threw in some dots in absence of sense

Do you even read what you reply to or what that particular response was about.....

Any chance of getting the numbers right.....I’ll let you work it out....

The U.K. has bent over backwards for the ROI since it’s inception, yet still we have this anti - U.K. rhetoric. In the past people like myself had an affinity for what was ‘the old country’, but eventually there is only so much animosity that you can take. So I hope Boris plays a very hard game, knowing he and his party are toast if he doesn’t, and what will be will be......

Pete, I can assure you almost all of Ireland considers Britain its most valuable neighbour. But every relationship has limits, and we just want no part of the UK's suicidal tantrum.

And Prev can I assure you that almost all of the U.K. considers the ROI it’s cousin and friend. But we can’t be doing with this Brussels inspired backstab......
