Versailles has much more to recommend it than Buckingham Palace does (or would) though.
 
Was in Wales the other day and got talking to this couple when we stopped for a coffee. They were saying how pissed off they were at the amount of disrespect they had heard towards the Queen, they were pushing how she had served the country without getting or expecting anything in return, me "hmmm..."

I pointed out that she did actually get paid for her 'service' to the country and she had earned millions over her lifetime. How she had lived a life of luxury, how she didn't have to worry about paying her mortgage, paying her bills, feeding her children, if she had the slightest cold she had doctor's 24/7, how if she needed an operation she din't have to wait 12+ months on a waiting list, how if we all had the health care that she had we would all have the chance of living to a ripe old age. The couple stormed off stating "Typical Northerner" the bonus was that they left a piece of chocolate cake that I thankfully accepted. ?

Every time I went to the courthouse in Samui for bail I used to walk straight over to the big portrait of the King and bow, the officials really liked that and were really friendly with me.

Also I used to bring cakes for all the girls on reception.

I was quite the courthouse hit to be honest.

I know that from when they destroyed one of my favorite night spots near phuket, forcing all the beach bars inland claiming the beaches were kings land

I have a blood donor appointment for Monday evening. I have O- blood, so I’m a “universal” donor (basically a super hero, just without a cape), so always give blood as often as I can. I am always getting emails / texts from Blood Donors, telling me “our stock of your blood type is critically low, please donate” etc.

Just got a message to tell me that due to the funeral (which is Monday morning), my appointment (which is Monday night), has been cancelled. Along with, I assume, all other donations for that day. Next available appointment in my area isn’t for another month or so.

So that’s another important medical thing being cancelled en-mass, to add to all the cancelled surgeries, check-ups, tests etc.
