2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

I’ve watched a lot of Championship games this season, not just Preston, and surprise surprise it’s full of decent Championship level players, teams regularly beat teams higher than them , anybody can beat anybody etc. There aren’t as many PL standard players as you might think, that’s why promoted teams regularly come back down again, they don’t have enough PL standard players.

Armstrong has done his time in the Championship, he’s a PL standard player, he will now improve more playing with and against PL players even if it’s reduced minutes in the PL. It’s the quality of those minutes that will improve him not more Championship minutes.

i agree, hes had two 5 month spells at both ends of the championship and its served him and his development well

next big thing in his development is being part of a european tilt and playing alongside quality players like grealisn ndiaye kdh gana garner etc

if he doesnt play loads between now and may i personally dnt think that hampers him too much and appearances off the bench against PL opposition in crunch ties is a new challenge for him over going back to preston

i also think we are all far too confident of having a full strength side, i can see armstrong getting lots of minutes, whether starts starting in central midfield/10 with our current injury problems, being used as a sub if kdh and the likes come back which I’m not expecting anytime soon, and potentially being used as an option out wide when required ahead of mcneil or dibling neither of whom moyes rates

i think theres a chance hes put himself ahead of alcaraz, and he was picked ahead of rohl v wolves. tim has been really impressive but i could see him being used ahead of tim in certain circumstances, or depending on who else is on the pitch, or what is going on in the game

kid will get time and be important in the run in

then we assess in summer if hes going to be in and around that first xi, or if he goes on loan to a promoted premier league club or something similar
