So are we expecting Armstrong to be in and around the squad this season or is a loan looming? Personally I think he needs to be playing but also don't see why with our current squad he couldn't get minutes with us

There’s only so much you can learn in training. It’s games games games when you’re young.

Loan him out to Championship now, with clause for return in January if we need him.
Keep until January then loan him out if he’s not getting enough minutes.
Keep and ensure he gets enough minutes and we progress his development in house.

For me it’s keep. I’m fed up of us making selections of players,tactics , managers etc based on the need to avoid relegation. Let’s start developing as a club with ambition, which includes developing our best youngster for years in house with specific plans for him. If we believe we’ve got the coaches and set up to sign 19 year old Aznou , try to buy/attract 19 year old Dibling we should have the belief we can develop Armstrong who’s 19 in January.

For me he’s more than good enough to be int he squad and has the chance to establish himself this year. Keep him involved and give him regular minutes from the bench - let him take his chance here

Obviously we need a 6. Ive/weve seen those performances he had at Derby as a 6.

He was arguably their best player in all but one or two matches I watched.

Were trying to sign 19 year old Dibling for £40mil odd...could Armstrong take the 6 and make the position his own this season?

I think he can.

The question is whether staying with Everton, or going on loan until Jan is the best way to set him up for the DM role in the 2nd half of the season?

Thing about loans rather than keeping - Moyes is way more likely to play him if he goes out on loan and shows he's ready - doing that here Moyes is taking the risk which I just don't see Davey boy doing.
