The Echo should be ashamed a single person (let alone thousands of people) is genuinely appreciative of the journalistic efforts of Stan Collymore over the Echo. A bunch of attempts to deflect the criticism in an article with no byline? Keep on lying to yourselves that the net and ipads are the only reasons why print is dying.

I got news for you (sorry) ... you'd sell more papers with some real stories about issues like this than you do with all your precious "access" to banal boilerplate "we gave 100%" interviews with players and managers. Their "access" is meaningless -- the players and coaches never say anything interesting to the papers anyway. Burn the bridge and start doing some actual journalism ... of course that's harder than just showing up to a presser and writing down the same-old "jock quotes" again and again.
