FYI: Talksport Everton Special

Everyone's missing the big picture here, clearly if anything can be learned from the talksport interviews its how to fit a tea towel properly to your head for match day purposes.

Poznans!

Although I agree with Everton not being a good prospect for the reasons Kev said above (still pulling my self together after reading that). Isn't buying a football club more of a rich man/womens play thing or an emotional purchase. Rational business sense was never really part of the equation was it? If you want a sound investment, you don't look a football teams.

I am hoping that what Everton has to offer is being part of the most successful footballing city in England and the chance for someone to come in and make us clearly the best team this city has ever seen...... A boy can dream.... No thanks to you kev...

Look I'm not the enemy here but this is my day job. If you seriously think Peel are about to advance a £20+ billion project any time soon you're making yourself look very daft.

Getting planning consent is one thing - but there is no demand for anything they might want to build. There is next to no speculative development anywhere in Europe (outside central London and core capital cities elsewhere) let alone Liverpool.

Peel don't have £billions to flash around! Nobody out there has cash. The banks won't lend.

What??? Are you saying that the Liverpool Waters and Wirral Waters project is just some time wasting effort??

Because its not what Gary Hodgson told me at a meeting I attended with him before Christmas. I was told that both water projects are on course, the post-panamx container terminal will be in-use 2015ish and fully operation circa 2019 and the strategic 20 year development of all owned Peel Docks, from Liverpool through the Manchester Ship Canal to Salford received favourable consultation from both business and local residents.

You may also want to look further a field with the planned enterprise zone and Ocean Gateway, which hopefully make Liverpool.

I don't know what your day job is Dell; but you're certainly not involved with this development or have any indepth knowledge of the plans, not just for Liverpool, but the entire North/North West of England and Peels plans

The neg rep mafia(who never leave their name) are out in full effect. I laugh in your face. I did three years standing on my head. It means nothing to a man like me

To me the fact that those stories have not come out smacks that there haven't been any serious parties at the table.
I agree with a great deal of what you said re: NDA and so forth. However I'm not sure this final conclusion stacks up. Just because breaking the NDA wouldn't have any legal ramifications doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt them in other ways. What benefit is there to a prospective buyer to burn the bridge?

A) What if the buyer(s) says "contact me when you're ready to sell for 60m-70m" and is hopeful one day they'll take that offer? "Outing" the board *could* force BK out (but maybe not to that group whom the board would now dislike and distrust). BK could also end up hanging on and then what was the point? These people aren't fans -- they don't care about us and how it might help us out for them to break the NDA. When the board wouldn't back down off 125-150m they probably just shrugged, shook their heads in disbelief at how stupid that valuation was and moved on to other pressing matters for billion pound entities.

B) What if the buyer(s) thinks "well this one didn't work out ... I'll keep my eye out for another team."? If they then throw Everton's board under the bus how eager will future boards be to negotiate in good faith with a group known for breaking NDAs and creating bad press if they don't get a valuation they like? Remember, some owners probably like BK and think like him -- they will NOT like a buyer who behaves like that. Might not be a deal-breaker for all of them but it's hardly going to help their reputation.
