More listeners = better contract.

That's the media in general. Why don't the Echo do some proper investigative journalism, more readers = better contracts. They don't do it because they will be refused access to Finch Farm. They don't do it because, unlike H&G, bill is local and has a good support. They don't do it because the powers that be at EFC have made sure it's not worth their while. Some Evertonians will only wake up when Moyes leaves and Martinez has us battling for 13th place.

They dont do it ultimately because they're business partners of the club - directly on some stuff, but also as part of the local culture industry that tends to work in unison. One hand washes the other. It's an unhealthy situation, and when that's pointed out to them via a national organ you see the wounded reaction from the local hackery. It's comical when moments like this happen. The Echo coast along 99.99% of the time, then this happens and they have to pull their finger out...if only to maintain their favoured position as protector of the boardroom at EFC. It's like prodding a stick into a wasps nest.

How do we know we will be so poor of Moyes leaves? We know Moyes has consistently kept us 'best of the rest' while losing the key matches. We know it can be a lot better than that (as well as a lot worse). We can't be sure how a new manager would do until he's had a good year in the job.

Who dares wins...

Is it worth taking that chance?

Perception often becomes reality, and the media at large have already decided that when David Moyes leaves David Moyes Football Club, the club goes into decline, mainly because David Moyes is the next Sir Alex. Or so they say.

The irony is I believe that Echo 'article' has made things worse. Firstly it's made the topic 'live' again, and secondly it has probably alienated the more 'awake' Everton fans who still buy the paper.

they have got the sunday times's northern football correspondent moorecroft on talksport now and keys, grey and moorecroft all saying how great kenwright and moyes are for everton!!

face meet palm!

We'll know nothing after a year. 2-3 years at least. Took Moyes 5 years to get the club stable as a top seven club (although granted he was starting from a far worse place than the new manager).

A new manager will have to start bringing the avaerage age down just like moyes did. There are more flare players now though, they will have to lean to pass again after years of looking up in the air.

Typical Bluekipper condescending piece that.

"who do you think will pay for it, Father Christmas?"

No wonder some of the more savvy fans took that board and forum down, they thoroughly deserved it.
