Are we marking this as strike two?

I hope wolves are not at the races, but I remember a woeful and relegation bound sheff utd turning up on a streak of poor results and finding a win at goodison well against the odds.
I've been burned so many times the scars are cycling back to healthy flesh...

Even if they are at the races, if we turn up - we win.

There's not many games I'm overly confident but tonight is one. Perfect opportunity to bounce back after Brentford.

I think AND expect we'll win. UTT.

This isn't a club that sack managers for not winning something. There's an argument that if we're stagnating next season after a big summer spend he might lose his job, but he could go out in the first round of every cup competition and be fine.
I think if the rumours are true and they are not giving him money to spend this window then his days are numbered already...

I think the vast majority of people would be fine with the following XI tonight:

Pickford

Patterson
Mykolenko
Tarks
O'Brien

Garner
Iroegbunam
Armstrong/Rohl

Dibling
Grealish
Barry

Job done. Not rocket science just the basics of having players in their right position and not needlessly playing a 6'6 centre back at right back and a slug on the wing.

Unfortunately, we all know that Keane will most likely start thus shovelling O'Brien out to right back with McNeil starting over Dibling down the right wing.

It's a completely different game to Forest where we sat back and soaked up pressure and made sure that the FBs were well protected.

This is a game we have to win and win well.

The back 4 should be Garner Tarkowski O'Brien Mykolenko and with an emphasis on the two FBs getting forward beyond the wide men.

Agree with Garner at right back for this one. We simply cannot play Keane. If Rohl or Armstrong can’t start a game in midfield v Wolves at home then they can’t start v anyone in the PL.

It isn’t rocket science but if we go with that side but would you be shocked to see Patterson put in a woeful performance, potentially one that costs us . Because I wouldn’t and if that comes to pass Moyes will get slaughtered .

I’m not a huge Moyes fan but squad depth and particularly the fullback issues make team selection a minefield .

It also goes without saying that as the manager he should have resolved this issue

Patterson got skinned once from memory but he and Dibling largely dealt with Hudson-Odoi and Everton played very well against Forest. Even if Patterson is at fault for one goal against Wolves I would probably take that for the likely net gain from having O'Brien at centre back and with Dibling having an actual full back behind him. We will likely create more chances offensively and be more secure defensively through the middle. Tarkowski plays a lot better with O'Brien plus the latter actually gives us a bit of recovery pace.

Compare that with the performance against Brentford where all four goals were avoidable and most goals could be attributed to the defensive set up.
