If Moyes continues with his 4-2-3-1 then we'll probably suffer another home defeat. We are too open against teams that can pass and move quickly or can outmuscle us at corners. We play better away from home because we sit back and pack the channels that make it difficult for teams to create chances. But at home we are too open. When the opposition has the ball they just play through us because we defend the space and not the player. To counter than we'd need to go man for man and push them to play the ball back to the goalie who'll have to go long with the chance of winning it back.

Can Moyes adapt? I hope so but doubt it. We've been beaten at home by Newcastle and Spurs with our best team available. Moyes has signed players who are good on the ball but that counts for nothing unless they play quickly or van actually get the ball - hard against teams that can pass and move which is why we need to press and man mark.

This season may well just fizzle out with ups and downs. It could we'll be the same next season and the season after that if Moyes stays. It wont matter who we sign if they are asked to play a certain way without the ball. This is a big cjallenge for Moyes and he needs to win something by the end of next season. That means if he doesnt win the cup this season and if by January/February next season we ate out of the cups then he needs to go.

This isn't a club that sack managers for not winning something. There's an argument that if we're stagnating next season after a big summer spend he might lose his job, but he could go out in the first round of every cup competition and be fine.

These new owners will not put up with mid table mediocrity and not winning something.

Possibly, but Moshiri had similar ideas when he arrived and we nearly got relegated. Should probably reference West Ham for how it's working out for them too.

I'm not saying Moyes's job should never be under threat, but there's a tendency for new owners to be trigger happy when they arrive and it often doesn't go to plan. Right now, it's a mid table squad getting mid table results. If like Aston Villa, we create a squad like they did under Gerrard and it under performs then we can think about removing Moyes, but only for a manager that clearly has what it takes to bring the club forward. No more flavour of the month appointments like Koeman and Silva.

Remains to be seen it's all about the bottom line - remember they are 100% capitalists not philanthropists.
Winning something brings financial rewards and krudos for the owners. They will not lay out millions in the shirt term without seeing some reward. The same goes for us fans, we can't continue to lay out money without seeing some reward, ie. winning something.

We need to win this one ! Wolves are doing well recently though

Their last 4 or 5 fixtures include Arsenal liverpool and man united away. They lost to an injury time OG at Arsenal. Liverpool scraped a win and they drew at United. The beating of west ham was not a surprise at all. Its been coming for them.
They look a side who now know they have nothing to lose and are going for it under a new manager who will be there next season.
Its crazy to say it just looking at the table but they'll come at us and i wouldnt be that shocked if they got some kind of result.

You've never heard of the law of diminishing returns ?
