Not particularly looking forward to tonight. It's going to be a dull, tense affair after Sunday and I'm really undecided if I fancy us to win or not. It's going to be cold and wet, the digital tickets will fail again and it'll be a home by midnight scenario again. However, Saturday's game is the one that will define where we are as a Club. If we start without Pickford and with a weakened side it will get really ugly if we don't win. I have half a notion that Moyes will know after the Carabou Cup debacle that we won't swallow it again and as a consequence he'll prioritise Saturday over tonight.

Hopefully, it'll be two routine wins but I really don't see it happening.

I think Keane has been better than Tarkowski this season.
Whilst that is true in part (for me we expect more from Tarkowski so when he performs at Keane’s level we slate him), Keane makes everyone around him look worse, including Tarkowski, IMO.

When Tarkowski has played cb with O’Brien we’ve looked our best as a collective defensive unit, and obvs when Branthwaite plays we look sound.

Or Branthwaite makes Tarkowski looks better?

I recall us with Tarkowski and Coady... we were 19th that season without Keane playing a single minute.

I don't buy into the Keane has a bad impact on Tarkowski. Its like when Tarkowski or anyone makes a mistake an people start to grasp at straws to blame Keane.

For me, Keane has been better than Tarkowski this season.

I think the vast majority of people would be fine with the following XI tonight:

Pickford

Patterson
Mykolenko
Tarks
O'Brien

Garner
Iroegbunam
Armstrong/Rohl

Dibling
Grealish
Barry

Job done. Not rocket science just the basics of having players in their right position and not needlessly playing a 6'6 centre back at right back and a slug on the wing.

Unfortunately, we all know that Keane will most likely start thus shovelling O'Brien out to right back with McNeil starting over Dibling down the right wing.

I would take that team tonight.

Personally i would prefer Beto to Barry

Agree with Garner at right back for this one. We simply cannot play Keane. If Rohl or Armstrong can’t start a game in midfield v Wolves at home then they can’t start v anyone in the PL.
I cant see Patterson starting. Moyes gives no indication if everyone is available that he'd do that.

Garner is the obvious choice for me. O'Brien is too hesitant moving out of defence with the ball and looks for an easy short forward pass or checks back and passes inside or even back.
