Do we need an anthem?

Perhaps we could have Maxine Nightingale’s ‘right back where we started from’

And the entire crowd could shout ‘GET RIGHT BACK’ as loud as possible every time the chorus came round. Maybe the board would think ‘you know what maybe 2 permanent right back signings in 20 years is a bit on the low side’
"They want us to get right back on that phone and buy 6 more very bad strikers obviously".

I read a biography of Paul McCartney in which he decided not to buy an ostentatious house in the 60s on the basis that it was the type of house Gerry Marsden would buy. McCartney buggered off to a rambling falling down gaff on the beautiful Mull of Kintyre instead. Any anthem we have should be more McCartney than Marsden.
The Long and Winding Road?

I've always thought we could do with an Everton counter-part to this feller who was at Liverpool for years....but calling ours 'Dr FFS'.

Whats his hand doing up Steve Nicols arse?

You’d hope anyone with a brain at the club would be looking into all aspects of crowd engagement to see what works and what doesn’t to promote atmosphere. The fact that most clubs just come up with goal music, plastic flags, flashing signs on the advertising hoardes, suggest that it’s either an area overlooked by most clubs, or it’s something organic you can’t really affect.
I think that with us having Rossie as an announcer answers your top line

we already play forever everton before kick off in a similar manner to the two anthems mentioned

i hoped there she goes would take off a bit more after the southampton and brighton games but it barely gets a single along now. remember being dumbfounded at the villa home game when i ripped it out and absolutely no one else joined in

maybe for united and liverpool we’ll get more bounce for that
There she goes is like most songs everyone knows one or two lines to sing along to but don't know the rest ever listened to Amazing Grace at Wembley ?
