We haven’t won a trophy since 95 mateReally? Maybe it's just me but I never thought we had actually fallen that far.

Well he’s bottled many games before and bigger ones than last nights game and we all know or should know he’ll definitely do it again, don’t give him the chance let him go now and get Nuno Espírito Santo in now before another premier club grabs him while there is still no compensation to pay for him.Still can't get my head around this.
There's a minority defending or at the very least trying to justify the team selected by the manager last night.
I stick by once that team sheet came out most new what the outcome would be ( no matter who the opposition was ) because we've been here season after season for years.
Its a HUGE opportunity missed to progress in a competition where many other teams will have their priorities firmly fixed on Europe this season .
We have by far the lowest workload of anyone challenging for that cup.
We are light years away from prioritising what competition we want to be in.
There is no justification in having 2 left backs on the bench and Coleman given that spot , nor leaving Gana out to give Tim minutes , nor starting McNeil ahead of Grealish & Ndiaye. Leaving Pickford out was the crown topper for me.
We hear the argument squad players have to get game time , but they have to justify that selection to get that chance and quite frankly none of them deserve to and have been abysmal. It was a recipe for disaster from the get go.
Pick your strongest and fittest side , my guess is we win it comfortably and in a position to bring squad players in when & if needed throughout the game.
Go Big or Go Home it works in all types of sport most notably in football.
If this manager doesn't know this after decades in the sport he never will.
How did you fit watching Everton win all those trophies around your pro footy career ?
Christ - they're supporting a football team, not being sent to the trenches
If you can't accept peoples differing opinions then maybe a forum is not the place for you no matter how wild peoples opinions are or you start putting people on ignore mate.
He’ll hit the targets for this year in my opinion but the big challenge will be the next one which is my contention.
From what Kinnear has said he’s mentioned top half and a deep cup run. I think that’s the bar for this year. Can Moyes do it? I’m sure he might be able to get us into the top 10, who knows what will happen with the FA cup. There’ll probably be a view on the type of finish also e.g did we push Europe all season or did we do an Allardyce and make it thanks to some final results at end of the season.
The problem comes after that though because I imagine the target for the next season would be European football and targeting trophy wins. To do this Everton need to start winning away at top teams, winning derbies, going for wins when opportunity is there rather than draws, getting close to 2 points per game.
That’s the challenge in my view that Moyes will have to face if he achieves the first year targets. That’s a level he’s never reached at any team and it’s not contentious to say that. As you know I argued the toss with you for years over Moyes’ first spell but people need to recognise the landscape has changed. It’s also the reason why comparisons to Dyche or other managers under Moshiri is completely redundant. There’s no PS&R concerns, there’s no debt issues, there’s no sell to profit, there’s no absentee owner. The Friedkins will have targets, they will expect them to be met, if they’re not there’ll be no sentimentality. That’s the reality
you obviously don't understand how tempo , intensity and momentum work in football. It isn't just a tap you can turn on and off.And we had a team certainly for the last 30 minutes to win the game but for 2 goalkeeping mistakes. Result could have been so different.
I'm not saying sack him just over last nights abhorrent selection, as he has credit in the bank for now.Well he’s bottled many games before and bigger ones than last nights game and we all know or should know he’ll definitely do it again, don’t give him the chance let him go now and get Nuno Espírito Santo in now before another premier club grabs him while there is still no compensation to pay for him.
Fair enough, but eleven and a half years first time round was more than enough for me to understand that Moyes is a less than average manager so will not be missed by me.I'm not saying sack him just over last nights abhorrent selection, as he has credit in the bank for now.
That doesn't mean I can't show my displeasure and criticise his reasoning for doing it.
For the record I did not want Moyes back and we missed a golden opportunity to push the club in a totally different direction.
But for now I acknowledge we are in a better place since he came in.
Don't think he'll get too many more chances like last night before Friedkin fires him .
He hasn't got the big old warm blanket of Kenwright around him now and expectations are totally different now.
That's a good point and could point to why some of the players may not have recovered enough from Saturday. 3 day turnaround isn't much.you obviously don't understand how tempo , intensity and momentum work in football. It isn't just a tap you can turn on and off.

We've all been there mateOh no. Everyone is shouting at me. This must be what it like for @davek.
I agree we shouldn't have lost. Moyes is probably regretting his decisions last night and is probably quite worried with who he may have to rely on as the season progresses...
Superfan alertThere's a difference?
I’ve been on GOT since 2014 (gulp!)Not sure talking up the game as though it's a preseason fixture is the defence you think it is mate. Him doing that is largely the point of criticism.
What was the lesson from playing Coleman left back? What new lesson did we learn from starting McNeil? He's managed Alcaraz last season, and he apparently was really big on us signing Dibling so will have a clear idea on him.
Sometimes it's best to just call a spade a spade. Moyes dropped a massive clanger last night. He'll have annoyed more fans than he perhaps realises.
Surely the amount of added time depends on what shade of red we’re playingBut if we happen to be winning and they come on at the 86 minute mark, they'll also get the chance to play through 35 mins of added time, no?
