2025/26 David Moyes

Embarrassed and laughed at by who?

You’re saying you’d be ashamed to win a cup. Do we have to win 21 leagues and 6 European cups before we start celebrating winning trophies?
We're obviously far too big a club to concern ourselves with such silly little trinkets. I'm sure some wont get the bunting out until we've won the World Cup, the Grand Prix and Eurovision all in the same weekend.

Nope

You can play 5 or 6 good games, get lucky and avoid good opponents and win a cup

You need over 30 good games to win a league. So one is exponentially more difficult than the other and cant involve luck. You don't get to avoid good teams in the league.

So just to clarify the aim is to be lucky rather then good! ;)

Not for me mate, I’d rather build something and think we are - finally.

Sometimes age has its benefits: I've seen my football club lift 2 titles, 2 FA Cups and a European trophy...and a few Charity Shields...and get to a load of cup finals.

If I was a young supporter in my 20s or 30s I'd be walking round punching holes in walls today.

I have no idea what level of torment these lads and girls put themselves through. I'm not 100% sure I'd have stayed the distance tbh. I salute them for their fortitude.

Moyes would be my mortal enemy under those circumstances. I dislike him even having experienced all that success.

When players form dips.

5 subs per game.

You play yourself into the team, you don't get given carte blanche opportunity at the expense of the club/in a winnable cup competition.

Has McNeil done anything so far this season to decide he deserves a start? Coleman? Would we learn anything from them starting the game?

If you want to rotate/give some players an opportunity, do it as a couple of changes.

Not 7.
We hadn't won since beating them in August. Moyes needs options if he is to get this season back on track. 2 wins, 2 losses and a draw isn't the great start everyone thinks it is.

He needs options so how is he going to see what he has. Training can only tell you so much.
With better use of his subs over the season and letting players stake their claim for a place when our better players are injured. To make wholesale changes was moronic. He arguably put out a stronger team v Mansfield at home in the last round than v Premier League opponents away from home. He threw the game last night imo.

Not sure talking up the game as though it's a preseason fixture is the defence you think it is mate. Him doing that is largely the point of criticism.

What was the lesson from playing Coleman left back? What new lesson did we learn from starting McNeil? He's managed Alcaraz last season, and he apparently was really big on us signing Dibling so will have a clear idea on him.

Sometimes it's best to just call a spade a spade. Moyes dropped a massive clanger last night. He'll have annoyed more fans than he perhaps realises.

I'm hoping after his words last week Kinnear takes Moyes to task over that ****show last night.

We need to start being hard nosed as a club. This should be his first warning.

I also hope to god they have a list of younger potential candidates compatible with our playing squad if one becomes available in the summer.

I'm not advocating Moyes out yet. But the club needs to be more ruthless to drive standards up.
Apparently Moyes bottled going over the the fans last night. And loads of managers have been destroyed for that over the year. Like going back 15yrs bottling a derby and then making loads of changes and going out the cup in the early rounds in a whimper

It's not as if he brought in a load of U21 players. These are all 1st team squad players, the same as the ones playing each league game.
Now are we saying is the squad not good enough, that's a whole other argument but Moyes can only work with what he has been given.

We've been worked out. Stop Grealish getting crosses in you stop us scoring. Simple.
If we've been worked out we need a manager that provides an alternative attacking approach, like using wing backs and changing systems in-game....it's a good job we have such a flexible manager in place, isn't it?...
