2025/26 David Moyes

Quite a few forum posters swear that Moyes has the final say in every transfer transaction. Aznou and Dibling then are real head scratchers.

Moyes said he does.
The CEO said he does.
The most reputable Everton sources, like Boyland/The Athletic says he does.

I think anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't been paying attention to David Moyes the past few decades.

I think we won't know how good, or bad the last window was for a few years yet. Some were very much for the now, others the future.

I do mate.

If you go through this thread, you can repeatedly see the same posters " disappear " after we`ve won or are very obviously gutted that we didn`t get spanked to further their agenda, only to reappear a couple of days before our next game and start up again with their anti Moyes stuff.

Pffff name names!

They know who they are.
It's the usual innuendo without evidence. There isn't a person in here, even Dave, who doesn't want us to win things. Any suggestions to the contrary is just internet posturing. Some people think Moyes is doing a great job, others think he's holding us back, nobody wants us to lose.

Come on you know the drill by now.
Good ones = Moyes
Bad ones = someone else*

Best for all parties..
That the standout wording..
“What a bizarre move this is” stands out more to me!
Not sure it’s turned out best for him if his intention was moving to a club that would play him and elevate his chances for the W/C.
But the point was Bayern stating they had first team plans for him (or not), and that’s from their Sporting Directors gob.

He better not have us there after the 38th game.

Why? Your post here suggests that’s where we should be.

Last season we were 13th; the season before that with deducted points added in we'd have finished 11th-12th.

That suggests to me with the benefit of £110M in spending that we should expect to be where we are now.

There's no great leap forward here away from relegation. Just the improvement you'd expect by adding quality like Grealish / KDH to talent like Ndiaye and the very decent backline we had.

Some fantastic leaps in logic to get there.

Just because the lad was signed from the Bayern youth team doesn't mean he's walking into a premier league starting spot.

Yes he has caps for Morocco. Can you name another left back from Morocco without Google? I'll bet you can't.

He was clearly brought in for potential. I want to see more of him Dibling, and Rohl as well.

People keep acting like Moyes single handedly picked these players out of every other player in the world when in reality they were the best choices of what was willing to sign for a club that had been seen as a relegation favourite for three years before he got here.

Yeah it is a strange read, you can read it from both angles.
But that is a very strange statement by the sporting Director.

If that was really put to him, he's leaving Titles, Cups and Champions league to come here with even less guarantees..

It sounds quite snipey. Or maybe that's how they say 'thanks and good luck' over there..
