2025/26 David Moyes

But he hasn’t “ wasted “ the money has ?
he?

He’s bought players that we would be able to sell and he’s improved the league position

Wasting money would be the moshiri early das where we spent money on players which we never sold and left on a free transfer and actually fell down the league
I agree the money hasn't been wasted. We've bought young players which is the right strategy. Only problem is parts of the fanbase have no patience and expect these players to make an instant impact which is why lots of the fanbase are suggesting the money has been wasted. I agree with Davek that if we finish 10th to 12th it'll be a failure. 9th would be seen as a nearly miss. I don't see any reason why we can't finish 8th and qualify for the conference league as the teams around us are hardly world beaters

I actually believe this has been one of the most competitive leagues this year in my opinion, as the typically and lower and middle tier teams have been able challenge teams with historically more resources. At the same time I do concur that we should make a serious push for Europe and that is feasible. Sice it has been a competitive season it has created opportunities for us to move up the table as teams are keeping point differences tight between each other
It's a combination of the top sides not being at previous levels and the middle pack all being wildly inconsistent (Brentford losing at home to Brighton yesterday for example after beating Villa and Newcastle away and getting a draw against Arsenal)

Supposedly he was a bit of a troublemaker, or at least that is what some have pointed too.
Dunno about that, wanting out for whatever reason doesn’t have to equate to trouble maker.

If that was in his make up, then it further brings into question Moyes recruitment, its bad enough buying someone you wont play, never mind buying someone you wont play who is a trouble maker.
Doesn’t sound very Moyey.

Surely it’s a bit early to determine if he wasted any money or not then isn’t it?

Dibling £38m (summer ‘29)
Aznou £9m (summer ‘29)
Travers £4m (summer ‘29)
Rohl £20m (obligation - undetermined duration)
Non of which can be said to have contributed to improving our league position so far, and all of whom are currently very difficult to justify could be sold for what we paid right now.

Alcatraz £13m (summer ‘27)
Played a little bit, but is out of contract next year

Barry £28m (summer ‘29)
Played but, you know, Barry. No one is paying £28m for him on current form.

Hopefully they all step up and they end up being money well spent rather than leaving on a free or at a loss, but to say he’s not wasted any money now is a bit premature imo.

You’re changing the point again ..

You said he had “ wasted “ the money

He’s bought players which we can sell if needed to recoup most of it and he’s improved our league position

Koeman and Walsh wasted money … paying for players like bolasie , siggy and a long list of others that we could never sell while we watched ourselves go backwards
Why isn't he playing them then? 🤔

but it’s not from you so what you want
an think isn’t guna happen

I'm hoping for Europe but expectant of top half.

If that doesn't happen it wont be just me who sees that as failure and believe his future here will be under review.

If that happens 'his jaiket will be hanging by a shoogly nail' as they'd say in his native Glasgow.

Reading this thread is a constant reminder of why I want Moyes gone in the summer. We spend years waiting for the chance to move on with a new stadium, new beginning. And all weve done is go back 15 years to resume the same Moyes arguments that made us glad to see the back of him first time round. Thanks for last season Davey, cant knock that, but youre not the future.
So we need to get rid of a proven manager doing an excellent job because a vocal minority of our fans are bellends. Sounds like a recipe for success.
