2025/26 David Moyes

So we need to get rid of a proven manager doing an excellent job because a vocal minority of our fans are bellends. Sounds like a recipe for success.
I'm happy to let Moyes see his contract out but please explain a) what Moyes is 'proven' at as its certainly not success, his career record is very ordinary for someone who has managed the amount of games he has and b) what is this 'excellent job' you think he is doing, do you really think people are grumbling about being in 8th place? christ you are even dumber than I thought.

Hi angry eloquent kev

A highly regarded poll on here suggested the majority want a change of manager by end of next season

Can you do a poll at the ground?

Don’t shout abuse at the people tho or they might not participate. Try to keep your head. Good lad

Surely it’s a bit early to determine if he wasted any money or not then isn’t it?

Dibling £38m (summer ‘29)
Aznou £9m (summer ‘29)
Travers £4m (summer ‘29)
Rohl £20m (obligation - undetermined duration)
Non of which can be said to have contributed to improving our league position so far, and all of whom are currently very difficult to justify could be sold for what we paid right now.

Alcatraz £13m (summer ‘27)
Played a little bit, but is out of contract next year

Barry £28m (summer ‘29)
Played but, you know, Barry. No one is paying £28m for him on current form.

Hopefully they all step up and they end up being money well spent rather than leaving on a free or at a loss, but to say he’s not wasted any money now is a bit premature imo.

So is saying “ he has wasted “ the money too isn’t it ?

As of now he has not wasted it as they can still improve and our first 11 and bench is stronger than last year

Hadn’t read Dave’s post, only what you were replying to.
Not on our current form.

He better make top half or that's a waste of £110M last summer.

I've said for a while: fail to get top half in this terrible league with spending like that and he should be sacked in May.

However in the context of what Dave was saying, there’s certainly an argument to say given how open the league is, how high up we are, then the £71m of transfers that aren’t getting played out of the £119m spent is a bit of a wasted opportunity if not strictly wasted money (yet), as better recruitment of players who can actually contribute might have us closer to if not in Europe at the end of the season.
And to Dave’s point if we don’t finish in the top ½ with £71m spent on players who don’t play, I’m not sure how else to frame it tbh. They certainly won’t be increasing in value.

Spot on mate.

...and this is a sub-standard PL and has been for years, tbf.

Bottom half finish would represent failure. No ifs or buts about it.

I've seen a bit of speculation on Moyes, I think we got to support the owners and the manager whoever that might be.

I have seen from supposed ITKs that Moyes was not 1st choice on TFGs list, their plan was to get to the end of last season with Dyche but they were forced in to changing and needed a steady hand... so for TFG I think they have to make a decision this summer.

Would anyone be happy with Moyes going in to the last season of his contract? My opinion would be if we have Europe or not, which 5 of our next 8 games is against teams above us I'd say was quite slim.

TFG with Roma bought the majority of players 23 or under, clearly they have tried that here with a couple of exceptions but Moyes just doesnt play young players, so it appears TFG recruitment isnt aligned to Moyes who only wants exeperinced Premier League players.

I think you've got to look Roma, they brought back Ranieri to steady the ship, he got Europe and then they moved for their number one target, I can see the same here, is that what I would do? Depends who their targets are... but for me we need to use the noise in our new ground by seeing aggressive pressing and attacking football to get the crowd up and not mid or low block, who gets excited by that?

Whether they stick with Moyes and gets him to evolve or they got another target in mind will be down to TFG...

Once again, except for the ones currently in the team.

Which are the current young ones in the team every week that they signed apart from Barry? Even he was out of favour to Beto for a long time.

Rohl played well v Villa, never seen again. Aznou will never get a look at even though Mykolenkos contract is up this summer.

Dibling nowhere... Nathan Patterson only 24 but never gets a look in until absoluely necessary even though we looked better when he does play.

Shoehorning Michael Keane in at any opportunity and constantly playing Gueye.

All the Moyes naysayers are going to look stupid when the HBO series " The Greatest Achievement" comes out about the heroics he performed to achieve a 4th place finish which is the greatest achievement ever seen in the Premier League.

Already confirmed in staring is as follows

Bradley Cooper as James Beattie
Michael B Jordan as Marcus Bent
Jason Statham as Lee Carsley and Tommy Gravesen
Liam Hemsworth as Tim Cahill
Samuel Jackson as Bill Kenwright
Cardi B as Jenny Seagrove

I'm just saying that TFG and the recruitment do not align on transfers which is why he often vetoes the name brought to the table like Norton-Cuffy.

We got George because he had Premier League experience, we cant have the model like Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth have if you only sign players from the most expensive league in the world.

Everton wont get Europe because of our home form.

Who should be playing? Aznou isn’t ready. Rohl did ok but we have better options. Dibling has done nothing to suggest he deserves a start. Patterson has been awful for years.

Rohl deserved to keep his place after the Villa game, the AFCON lads have failed to exactly light the place up since theyve been back, in fact I'd say Gueye has been quite poor and I think he would have benefitted from a rest after AFCON. The rest of the last 2 weeks might give them the boost they need for the rest of the season.

Even when we needed a LW why was Aznou not tried there? Did well and got us a pen in his only outing.

DIbling, something odd here, how have we been bent over for that amount of money, most of the best players in the world are establishing themselves at their clubs 18-20 but, we're told, this lad is going to be a world beater next year, or the year after, or the year after as he approaches his mid 20s. Something just feels wrong like the time he moved to Chelsea and got homesick so they had to cancel his contract, well that cant happen here.

4th ha he, not deluded though!

We're closer to 15th than 4th and with a tough final 12 games... and still 11 points behind last season points total.

'Best for both parties' just sounds like saying it as it is German style. They don't bother with frills as much
Yeah that's what I took from the article, I don't buy the whole case that Bayern wanted him to stay..

Having never seen the article, whilst seeing so many people saying they wanted him to stay, to me those 4 words answer the question..
The rest of the article is just gaff.
