2025/26 David Moyes

If spending 110mil is nothing these days and doesn't guarantee you entertaining football nevermind a top half, do we have to give Dyche more credit for his achievements with less?
This regurgitation of £110m being peanut's also conveniently ignores we’ve signed a player that cost £100m, won the treble season before last and is still earning £325k per week apparently. But because he’s on loan it doesn’t count somehow.
Not to mention two more loan players signed this season with deferred transfer fees of likely in excess of of £40m

To be fair Davek has got a point. The league isn't great and we need to get out of the mindset of because we've been so bad the last few seasons we can't expect to be ambitious going forward. I think we've got enough quality to qualify for Europe as I don't see anyone in and around us playing at a level we can't at least match. So if we finish 12th it would be a failure in my opinion
We should all enjoy our gruel and be bloody grateful for it…..

Fwiw it's worth re: Aznou, I think his defensive instinct and 'technique' - timing, when to be aggressive etc - actually looks pretty good from the bits of his Valladolid play I've watched. It's the stuff that's been mentioned in here about shielding the ball, holding off players at set pieces etc that'll be the issue.

Surely got to be the easiest thing to work on in a professional sports environment at 19, even if it does take a bit of time. So still pretty confident on him as a player in the long term.

Just absolutely crazy that we didn't clock this ahead of time and have him on loan this season, so harsh on the kid.

His first year was good, but he didn't deliver the results the 2nd year. It was like 8 wins in 40 games or so?

And it's a difference if you have yearly net spent of about 100m or like us once in a few years.

You and a few others, sound very much like you`d be delighted for us to lose on Monday, can I ask why that is ?

I hated Benitez, disliked both Allardyce and Dyche, but never wanted or advocated us losing just to get rid of the manager 🤷‍♀️
Do you honestly believe this? I want Moyes gone in the summer. I have never not wanted Everton to win.

I do mate.

If you go through this thread, you can repeatedly see the same posters " disappear " after we`ve won or are very obviously gutted that we didn`t get spanked to further their agenda, only to reappear a couple of days before our next game and start up again with their anti Moyes stuff.

You can look at my posts although I'm highly critical of moyes I typically give him credit if we win and yes there are certain posters who have an agenda but it's a slim minority. I think they're others like me as well who become exasperated by the flawed patterns exhibited by Moyes , like a currently mediocre Gana will be starting on Monday but I will be hoping we prevail against united especially when the pub I go to is saturated with them
