2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes has 'good' points and 'bad' points, people will argue long and loud about which of these 'points' falls into which categories.

My view is...
Moyeses 'good' points will get you more or less where we are,
His 'bad' points will hinder you from going much further...

and that assumes a decent level of investment in both quantity AND quality of players
Sure hope that much further is at least a top 7 finish.

This thread is becoming a clown show. Boneheads are now likening David Moyes to Sean Dyche, as if there is really any comparison.
He is a better manager than Dyche now only an idiot would suggest otherwise. Dyche was doing alright though for a bit considering how unstable things were off the pitch, Moshiri wanted out and the points deductions etc. The entire ceiling caved in on him eventually though!

Moyes has won one trophy in 25 yrs of management and it was the Lidl cup. Robert Martinez and Brendon rodgers both won the fa cup. We’re going off on a tangent here. I think we need a to total change in the dugout and let’s move into 2026. With the manager, the coaches and the style of play
Didn't wigan and leicester get relegated pretty quickly after there triumphant cup wins

The idea they play the same style of football is ludicrous. It is a bunch of people spinning a narrative that does not fit the facts.

You might accept it, but do you think the majority of fans would accept falling down the league table to play on the front foot more?
It depends what the trade off is doesn’t it? People wouldn’t accept going from 7th to 15th or whatever, but I don’t think it would even register with most people if we went from 9th to 11th. Particularly with the home form the way it is, we could be lower in the table but fans might actually have seen us win more and that would undoubtedly influence the way people felt.

I think apart from a couple of old players we have a pretty good squad it is just the way the players are selected and used by Moyes.

There is a very good basis for the future and just to get a couple of players to sort out the FB and Strikers position.

It’s isn’t a very good squad. It lacks depth and quality players in key positions.
