David Moyes rules out any January transfer

Havent read the whole thread but id take what moyes says with a pinch of salt, im certain he has scouted plenty of players who could improve us and depending on how things are looking at the time he may go after at least a loan for someone. Barkleys impressive form may also be in his thoughts regarding not signing anyone.

Smart, any one page of it summarizes the whole thing really.

The money to pay Ofoe's wages was obiously in place or we would not have tried to sign him on loan. That will be used to cover either him or someone else on loan in January.
No manager other than those who have no problem getting funds, is going to come out and openly advertise he is in the market for players especially if he hopes for a bargain

yeah but we have signed hitzlsperger since then, prob wouldnt of if we had got ofoe

whilst we have excellent fans it is sad to say the majority of us are easily pleased with mediocrity imagine the RS or Spurs or arsenal being told year after year they have to sell first to buy their fans would be in uproar shame what Kenwright has done neuturing the seals

That might have something to do with the fact that Arsenal and Liverpool are global brands that generate millions of pounds in revenue abroad from merchandise sales that we don't.

I wish some fans would start living in the real world.

hoping he's just saying this to make other clubs think we have no money hence lower what we can pay. The risk has to be taken by kenwright though, even if just a few mill, could be the difference between CL and Europa which will reap a massive financial reward for himself. Why buy a football club if you're not prepared to take any risks whatsoever

Because he's the world's greatest Evertonian and all he wants is for the club to survive and be successful blah blah blah yadda yadda bull****.

There's got to be a load of players at clubs like Chelsea & Man City (as well as other Euro ones but I know the English ones better) who want to play but barely get beyond the Capital One team. Chelsea, for instance, have players like Marko Marin
and Oriol Romeu who can't get near the team & others like Florent Malouda (yes, I know left wing isn't our priority) training with the kids.

I'd hope that we can pick up someone like that rather than an MLS player for 10 weeks.

Complete bull. Not going to get in arguments, but this club is ran dreadfully, using London factor, success factor ( the one that counts) what other factors can we use to excuse the shoddy running of the club. Not going to get into it because it will be blue kipper all over again. Just don't use lame excuses, for failure in the marketing of he club.

Have to laugh about a new central midfielder, pray for Hitzelberger, with Gibbo just a week away, we've written of Barkley, Osman will never play for England, there is no way an Everton team would go unbeaten since Sep with Phil Nev in central midfield, whos the lad with the funny hair anyway.

The last time we finished 4th we sold our best midfielder with half the season gone and we had no where near the depth we have now.

Bar a keeper or an oppurtunity of getting Donovan on loan, we don't need anyone.

I never said anywhere in that post that "he wasn't very good", and i'd have thought it was obvious that when i referred to the quality of the teams he's had/has that he was responsible for doing so.

So yeah, he's responsible for assembling on numerous occasions top quality teams who have finished regularly in the top 8, often top 6 yet he's not responsible for the fact those same quality teams have never actually won anything under him?

He responsible assembled those teams with bugger all money, managed to regularly finish higher in the league than teams who spent more than him but he's not responsible for those teams not winning a trophy because other teams spent more money? And teams who spent less money did, and have equalled or outdone his overall performances in the cups?

Now i'm not as harsh on him for not winning soemthing as Summerskin is, i'd still deem his time here a "success" for everything else he's done, but that still doesn't change how he has done such a good job in the league yet such a poor job in the cups.
My bad, I misinterpreted, figured using terminology like gash and unacceptable was meaning you thought he wasn't very good. Agree with the above. To a point...
It takes a lot of luck for a team not bristling with talent to win a cup, personally I can't think of any teams that have won the cup more than once that hasn't had a shed load of money spent on their squad in recent years. Even with a great squad it still takes some luck, its just the better the squad and the tactics the less luck you need.
We have a decent squad but we still need to improve our tactics to help get the luck we need to go that extra little step.
