David Moyes rules out any January transfer

I disagree.

Whilst im not in the NEVILLE IS TOTAL GASH camp, I do feel personally we need somebody with a little bit more quality in there.

Maybe Hitlzebeefburger is the answer? Maybe we find that out "soon", but if not, it leaves us with IMO, a fairly injury prone Gibson, an ageing Neville and for all his talent on the ball, a lightweight Osman, Barkley is at Wednesday at the moment, learning his trade.

We really could do with a player with a little quality that isnt the wrong side of 35 and hasnt been out for nearly 3months.

I agree with the Keeper part tho, hes badly Adam.

In an ideal world, we would get :

Competition for Howard
Cover for Right Wing
CM
Cover for Jelavic

But thats just being greedy.

Ideally and as I said at the start of the Season, we just a few extra bodies.

Why'd he have to say anything again??

Because shearer said were gonna finish 4th and cameras all around the place etc b) but realistically maybe its again just the Pressure and expectancy building and moyes doesnt want or need it on himself , has he ever reviled in pressure as Yeh" Bring it on , Nope. So him reverting back to these old tried and tested lines and putting a downer on things will always take him back to a place of comfort ..... as u say , why say anything , Why not just let Whole 4th place feel good thing ride and replying to any transfer window questions like "We will see what january brings" i speak to the chairman everyday

Complete bull. Not going to get in arguments, but this club is ran dreadfully, using London factor, success factor ( the one that counts) what other factors can we use to excuse the shoddy running of the club. Not going to get into it because it will be blue kipper all over again. Just don't use lame excuses, for failure in the marketing of he club.

Complete bull?

What is? that Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs don't generate more money than us for the reasons you've already been given?

I don't think think the board are very good at marketing the club but even if they were they wouldn't be able to sell thousands of Everton shirts abroad because we're not successful enough and because of that we haven't got a large following around the world.

You can't sell anything if there's no demand for it.

Everton Season Tickets: £443‑£672

Liverpool Season Tickets: £725-£780

Spurs Season Tickets: £730‑£1,845

Arsenal Season Tickets: £985-£1955

Some Spurs fans are paying around 3x more than Everton fans for their season tickets etc, but you don't seem to think that explains why they might have a bit more money to spend than us.

I don't think the board do a great job at marketing us but even if they did it wouldn't generate enough to make a big diffence in our transfer policy.

You seem to like ignoring evidence that disagrees with your own agenda, but try not confuse that with reality.

Have to laugh about a new central midfielder, pray for Hitzelberger, with Gibbo just a week away, we've written of Barkley, Osman will never play for England, there is no way an Everton team would go unbeaten since Sep with Phil Nev in central midfield, whos the lad with the funny hair anyway.

The last time we finished 4th we sold our best midfielder with half the season gone and we had no where near the depth we have now.

Bar a keeper or an oppurtunity of getting Donovan on loan, we don't need anyone.

He's been a week away for 2 months.

Osman is not a CM. He's a CAM. The fact that he got ONE solitary cap for England in a friendly is meaningless. Hitzelsperger has yet to prove anything and Barkley isn't even playing for us at the moment, but he's also not defensively brilliant.

We clearly need to strengthen in the centre of midfield, and Moyes obviously agrees. If he didn't then he wouldn't have tried to sign Ofoe and the club wouldn't have gone to the trouble of appealing the decision by FIFA to block the deal.

That £1800 figure from Spurs includes all away games and cup games doesn't it ?

We effectively have four central midfielders at the club, because Moyes thinks Fellaini is a CAM now, and Barkley is out on loan. One of those four seems to have injury issues and the other is a short term loan signing. Osman is too lightweight to be playing at CM all the time as matches like QPR have shown and Neville isn't even a midfielder. We've been relying on two players out of position for the past 2 months and we're hoping to challenge for the Champions League ? It's crazy.

Even when Gibson is back, where's our Arteta type player ? Osman is good on the ball but he's no midfield maestro, we need a player who can sit alongside Gibson but also roam forward and dictate play without us needing to take the ball out wide. We simply don't have that in our team at the moment.

But to be honest i'd forget about us signing a playmaker and just be happy with us getting a player whose primary position is central midfield, not an aging right back or a Scouse Messi.

good management again he,l hardly going to say come january were going to buy hence every club upping the transfer fee cos they know were after players!!!

I think its a case of Moyes trying to put pressure on the board for funds rather than him being "shrewd" we have already had elstone come out saying we wont have money for permanent signings and with him still having to sign that contract maybe he might push the board to give him the cash

Superb annual piece of popcorn from the Moyesmeister, simlar to his annual 'we'd be happy to get 40 points', followed by his 'we'd be happy to finish in the top half of the table'.......

..............and people still fall for it.

Has he ever said he'd be happy with 40 points?
I know he often says he wants to get to 40 points as quickly as possible and see where they can get from there but seriously has he ever said he would be happy to finish with 40 points.

PLEASE PLEASE Moyes get Keisuke Honda in the summer transfer window or this one if possible. He will be a free agent this summer and is keen to play top level soccer. He's rated THE best player in the Russian Premier League right now(according to their ranking system which is used by many clubs today to assess the performance of players and is only 27. It would be amazing if we could get one of my countrymen to be a toffee. I like the squad as it is but we need some cover at CB and another creative Midfielder as I believe Fellaini will be gone quite soon.

Has he ever said he'd be happy with 49 points?

You know what I mean. He sets fans' expectations as low as possible in the media, while at the same time breathing fire and brimstone in the dressing room making the players believe that they are better than they think they are. Everything then is a bonus. It's classic Moyes banter and people should really know better by now than to fall for it and start fuming.

Unless of course they've just been waiting all this time while we've been playing well for something to moan about...

Tbf mate, he plays just as well deep as he does off the striker, at least in my opinion. Gibson and Osman always look really strong together, but we do definitley need another, 'natural' CM who could maybe cover the no.10 role as well.
