I’ve just been put on the job retention scheme been told nothing to worry about long term at the moment... we shall see.

It’s starting to hit home now this on a financial level.

This could be miles worse than being reported then ?
Well potentially of my theory is right, or improving ever so slightly. We may not know in the here and now. Even tests take days to come back so that is delayed figures themselves.

So if the curve is to lower then it won't be on that day but over a period of time previously. Which makes sense as restrictions should still be in place for a little bit after that point I think.

not having a go but hopefully when this is all over people will re evaluate their lives
Do we need the second car ,does it have to be a range rover.
Do we need 3 foreign holidays a year
Do we need to keep up with the Jones
Do we need takeaways and meals out 3 times a week
maybe people will realise that we can get by on a lot less.
I have 300 euro burning a hole in my pocket every week now that i cant go out and socialise.
I had 3 holidays booked ,easter June July probably all gone
Will I survive without them ,yes.
One thing I know .this pandemic has given me a fresh outlook on whats important in life

Are you doing mates rates, now that your selling the land rover? lol

Thats the first time I have heard anyone reference oxygen support. It sounds dramatic, but actually isnt, and is a piece of cake to administer to a post vent patient. (I was allowed to pop Mrs R onto hers when needed ffs!)

Basically, a vent replaces the lungs till they are strong enough to work well enough to support a heart. Once off it, most patients will need access to oxygen, and its just a pressurised tank and a tube. Totally mobile, like a gas canister you might have for a caravan cooker.

There was a point I had in mind when I started this, but ffs, its slipped my mind.

Oh, yeah. The tanks can be used at home.

Makes you think outside of a vaccine is our only realistic option to just carry on with life as best we can?

I know its abhorrent thinking of the number of deaths that would occur whilst the population developed immunity but what really is the alternative at this stage?

You cant keep the country on lockdown for 6-12 months the economy would completely collapse and they'll be anarchy on the streets.

Big decisions needed you feel over the coming weeks if this thing hasnt slowed down across the world.
We can work on improving our hospital capacity, plus testing/isolating and contract tracing. I also have hope that some of the treatments outside of a vaccine, for instance the plasma from recovered patients, will prove effective.

Too right mate, it's made me realise I need to get more skiing in.:D

Heard today that a 12 year old girl from Ghent died from the covid-19 virus. Horrible news that mate.

Yeah, crazy time. no underlying medical conditions either.

We think it's from the school my girlfriend works in... At least they all have a staff meeting on skype at 0900 tomorrow.

She's already been in quarantine for a week after presenting with a cough.
