Only realised he was ill this morning - Proper legend
His wife just said she'd recovered and he's stable.

Only realised he was ill this morning - Proper legend
True, though the firms have a lot of responsibility for not telling people these trips were off (especially cruises).
Office of national statistics supposed to be giving the full figure including deaths away from hospitals tomorrow..
Ive read some suspicions around the UKs reporting of figures similar to what you read on here about China. I’m not making an accusation good or bad as I really don’t know, but I’ve seen the following suspicions.
UK:
Only reporting R.I.Ps in hospital.
Not including numbers without consent of the family following an R.I.P.
Priority given to reporting death of an underlying health condition, I.e. cardiac, respiratory disease even though people tested positive for covid.
Deaths in the community, nursing homes and covelasence home not added to stats.
As NHS haven’t until recently been tested, there could be a significant number of active cases amount health care professionals - health care professionals can make up a quarter or more of active cases as has been seen in other countries.
*Hard to know the truth of it all, it’s just what I’ve read but I’m sure everyone on the ground is doing their best. You can read anything you want from the wildly optimistic to the most pessimistic.
Already today there are articles of flattening the curve in the UK Vs stories of beginning triaging ICU beds.
I suppose the only way of validating will be retrospectively against average mortality rates Vs normal during the covid period Vs official covid figures.
Austria have brought the same rule in today.I've been told that people in Bulgaria can only leave their houses from tomorrow if they are wearing a mask. Problem is there are no masks available for anyone.
Lots of church leaders seem hell bent on getting large numbers of their congregations to meet their maker.
History repeating itself...

Closed borders and ‘black weddings’: what the 1918 flu teaches us about coronavirus
The influenza of 1918 killed up to 100 million people. What lessons does it offer for our current health crisis?www.theguardian.com
‘Inevitably, people found it easy to revert to more mystical, and more fatalistic, explanations of what was happening. In the deeply pious Spanish city of Zamora, for example, the local bishop defied the health authorities by ordering a novena – evening prayers on nine consecutive days – in honour of Saint Rocco, the patron saint of plague and pestilence. This involved churchgoers lining up to kiss the saint’s relics, around the time that the outbreak peaked. Zamora went on to record the highest flu-related death rate of any city in Spain, and one of the highest in Europe.’
Wow...
Well that’s cheered me upThe idiocy and venality of the Church is probably a consequence of a pandemic too; during the Black Death between 40% of 50% of priests, monks, nuns and other religious across Europe died.
Sadly it was probably that same 40% - 50% of European religious who were the ones who cared for the sick, went into plague-ridden homes to give last rites, preached the Gospels in a way that they were intended to be preached and who generally served their communities; wheras it was the absentee priests, the venal, the corrupt and the simoniacs who sealed themselves away and were a lot less affected.
These then went on to buy up loads of property cheap from the dead, with the result that within about 100 years they reached heights of corruption even we can barely comprehend, and within 200 had split Europe in half.
