Wales have shut all their camp sites and caravan parks. Not sure if you can stop people going to their second home in St Ives, other than appealing to their better nature.
You can't blame people for wanting to come down here, even if only to self isolate. But you can't get away from two issues. One is that the demographics show that there are a very large percentage of elderly and higher risk people living down here. And two is that we don't have the medical infrastructure to cope with a major epidemic.

A word of warning too, it isn't even that safe here. The two deaths in Cornwall today take the figure to 7, all in the last few days. Not far off the figures for Scotland and Wales but with a fraction of the population.

The Netherlands are going into ''an intelligent lockdown' according to our prime minister. No more gatherings of more than 3 people, not from one family. Keeping a distance of at least 1,5 m between all people. All hairdressers have to close shop. Stores and supermarkers have to keep to a strict door policy. Not too many people inside at one time. €400 penalty for individuals, up to €4k for store owners.

I'd hate that. Where would I get my beard groomed. Doesn't bear thinking about tbh.

I'm seriously worried about the idea of a full lockdown and the impact it will have on my family. My brother is severely disabled, both physically and mentality. If I can't take him for a walk or drive at least once a day it will result in him being extremely distressed and almost certainly hurting himself severely. :(

There will be a way for you. get in touch with his doctor or social services.....best of luck....

what wld you do if you knew a company is decommissioning its research lab and whole team have been told to dump £££££ worth of brand new full PPEs/hoods/antibac etc TODAY?? They are refusing to donate to NHS.

We had China mate. The whole of Europe and the west should have been ready.

They weren't.

I can't stand this government on the whole but frankly they're just a small part of a massive problem – caused by inaction from every government in Europe (and obviously initially in China probably hiding the numbers).
Business interests ruled

No mucking about - but does anyone else think the self-isolation will be done by first week of April? Particularly the WFH stuff.

I'm being very strict on it - have barely left the house in the last ten days with virtually no visitors - but wonder if we are genuinely looking at another 4-6 weeks lockdown
I would say 4-6 is the bare minimum
Early June if things go very well would be my guess

Just been into Falmouth to get some fish and chips and Rick Steins takeaway is shut. Couldn't believe it:)

If they close the pasty shops down here there'll be a riot.
Ann's has already closed, too many tourists. Barnecutts are shutting down tomorrow. Prima are still open for the time being.

You'll struggle to find a pasty within the week I should think.
