Quite a way for me to go I guess
Could be worse
There will be less colds, less coughs, sneezes, well apart from the hayfever, in the summer.
But considering that English summers consist of 3 days of sunshine its not much to hold out for sadly.
One week down....who the hell knows how much longer to go.
If the worst thing that happens is boredom then it's not the worst thing, is it?
No mucking about - but does anyone else think the self-isolation will be done by first week of April? Particularly the WFH stuff.
Prime minister here in Aus has just announced a load of financial stimulus and safety nets for workers and business but he said these measures are in place for 6 months. At least. If you are based in the UK mate honestly, 4-6 weeks is incredibly optimistic. Things there are tracking closely with how Italy tracked over the first 2 or 3 weeks from first confirmed case. If I were you I'd be thinking a period of 2-3 months in lockdown. It's only going to get worse before it gets better, not just in the UK.No mucking about - but does anyone else think the self-isolation will be done by first week of April? I'm being very strict on it - have barely left the house in the last ten days with virtually no visitors - but wonder if we are genuinely looking at another 4-6 weeks lockdown
Oh, I meant on a personal note, not a general note. My wife and I have been fortunate that we are both able to work from home with full pay(even tho I do full time anyways). We have tons of friends in the restaurant industry, I've no idea how to help them right now. I can't go and tip really high, I can't go bring them out for food or anything. It's unbelievably tough for probably HUNDREDS of millions worldwide on that note. The worst is yet to come, just hope it peaks quicker than anticipated.Nope that's true.
But for a lot of people who don't get the illness, 'boredom' isn't the worst thing that's happened or going to happen unfortunately.
Losing jobs and income etc.
I know you aren't been flippant or anything, not having a go here. Just saying, it's messed up a lot more than just people not being able to go to the pub.
Hope you haven't been impacted or, if you have, you're getting compensated.
Over to you Robbie Fowler.Well done

Honestly mate I think the gravity of the situation means longer term lockdown is the only way they can control the spread and more importantly keep essential services running. Italy initially tried to do localised quarantine but it didnt work and the UK has so far followed a similar trajectory in terms of infection rates. Personally feel it's better to prepare for the worst here and if things pan out differently then it's a bonus but with the stress and underfunding of the NHS and public services in general before covid 19 I think the UK will have to take more dramatic measures very soon and they will be in play for a long time. That's an interesting one mate. I think it is ultra-serious, don't get me wrong, and I think the curfew stuff is the right thing. It just feels a bit unimaginable that we'll all be kept in our homes beyond mid-April, and more likely there will be surges (and re-quarantines) for the next six months rather than a full lockdown.
