Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I am up before the cocks, on sunday, something happened to my sleeping patterns during this pandemic, still not sure what.

No mucking about - but does anyone else think the self-isolation will be done by first week of April? Particularly the WFH stuff.

I'm being very strict on it - have barely left the house in the last ten days with virtually no visitors - but wonder if we are genuinely looking at another 4-6 weeks lockdown
Jesus... Am gonna lose my mind, went for a walk yesterday and my eldest spotted a playground about 20 miles away(how?) and had to tell her she couldn't go on it, that went well....

No chance.
I think we waited too long to go full lock down so I reckon end of April at the very very earliest. More likely later.

Are you for real?
Yes my friend. I am very real!
I don’t feel obliged to respond to your post but I might as well now I am here. I guess it kind of bugged me.
The linked quote of mine that you made referred to a post that I wrote asking for people’s opinions upon my being requested to continue teaching a small group of key workers and vulnerable children. I realised that somebody had already posted a similar question therefore I wrote your selected quote. I hope this answers your doubts about my being real!

Elsewhere, tomorrow I begin working with 10 children At my school. No guidance has been given as to what protection we can wear and as to how far we can enforce social distancing. Primarily ‘we must not scare the children!’ Some of the vulnerable children will not be able to socialLy distance and this concerns many of the staff ‘told’ not asked to do this duty. The main concern however is the trust that we have put upon the families of all 52 that will be attending the school tomorrow. Will they all follow government guidelines? Hmmm.

From tomorrow my life really will be real.

thanks for reading

Sir

Italy has been on lockdown for two weeks and their death toll every day is frightening. Many people myself included was not taking this seriously, but I sure am now.
I don’t see this self isolation and normality resuming before May at the earliest. This is going to be a long slog for everyone and it’s going to be tough but thousands of lives are at serious risk here. Let’s not think it won’t happen to us, we need to do everything we can to prevent it happening to us. As long as you have your family around you and food on the table then nothing else matters!

Very similar position but on the support staff side. No idea how many students we are dealing with but a primary feeder school had 120+ requests out of 280 kids. Some parents aren't getting the criteria right or not taking it seriously. We're hoping demand will fall off quickly but who knows.
I had one hour on Friday to prep staff and circumstances for tomorrow. It seems a lot of people think it's fun to piss about with other people's situations, and though I'm sympathetic that some won't be able to get sh1tfaced for a while, ffs get a grip, other people are actually stepping up for others here.

I’m the same. I took it lightly at first but slowly came to the realisation of just how significant this is going to be.
What I’m finding difficult at the moment is convincing family members to take this seriously too.
