The crazy thing is that it doesn't seem to have hit the 3rd and developing world countries as much at the moment. I'm guessing that's maybe a transport infrastructure thing?

For context, India (the worlds second largest populace) has only had around 350 'confirmed' cases with only 4 confirmed deaths.
Considering their lack of medical infrastructure and finances compared to the Chinese, you'd expect it could seriously rip through the country when it gets going.
Pakistan also :(

Not 100% sure on the validity of this outlet mind.

I was looking at the cases per country and I did notice that the African and Caribbean countries all had very few cases.

Im hoping that it doesnt like heat very much.

See I think this is what the scientists expect, it will drop off in the summer but we will get a second wave again towards the end of the year as it gets colder.
Let's hope if do the second wave isnt like the second Spanish Flu one after WW1 which was the really bad one

Iiirc MERS and SARS were not seasonal. However hope like hell this coronavirus is as it would give everyone a much needed break to prepare for an autumn wave if there was a summer slowdown - might even mean we had some antivirals, certainly you’d hope more hospital capacity and supplies.

There will be less colds, less coughs, sneezes, well apart from the hayfever, in the summer.

But considering that English summers consist of 3 days of sunshine its not much to hold out for sadly.

No idea mate, im almost certain my theory is complete rubbish.
I think the whole heat thing is to do with Windows being opened and people generally being outside more. Think even the flu can survive hot temps but it's how we act that slows the spread compared to winter when we're huddled indoors more and doors/windows are shut

Its spreading like wildfire through nsw and Victoria here in aus so dont think heat has anything to do with it. 30 degree days in vic this week but just announced another 50 cases overnight which is a 25% increase in total cases for the state in one day. This things going through the roof. The reality seems to be that flattening the curve may only stretch out the length of time it takes for those at risk to contract and succumb to the virus. Without a vaccine this is going to be a huge loss of life, especially in Europe.

In a nutshell your spot on mate. Vaccine is absolute key imo and is probably a long way off, certainly too far for my liking just due to the missus and the job she does and me being selfish.

It'd be lovely to wake up tomorrow and be kicking off about another Everton bottle job against Chesterfield in an FA Cup quarter final compared to the crap we currently have.
