The government have stated 350,000 have been done so far. They all need a second dose as well which just shows what a challenge this is. We need them to be vaccinating millions per week to have any chance of normality by the spring.

Once the GP surgeries get on it, they will race away. My parents are booked in for Tuesday; the surgery only put a marquee up a few days ago.

If/when the Oxford jab gets the thumbs up, even quicker. When I had my flu jab, I was astonished at the speed they get through 0000's of folk.

True but its starting to look like we won't be back to any sort of normality in April/May. If this new super variant is remotely true we will be in a lockdown for a very long time.

Vaccination is going to be a challenge for all countries. Speculation in the German media today that there still won’t be enough immunity in the country this time next year

But the scientists haven't signed off anything though, they just advise.

And, that advise has been taken at the death weeks later when it should have been.

@tsubaki you have a valid point about the media and how they have tried to demonise the likes of Vallance for trying to save lifes.

Its worked in this case.

I remember Vallance back in March - early/mid March - doing the presentation on how they expected covid to grow / spread etc.

It was clearly complete waffle and was proved so within days.

Just think fining people in a restaurant for being from a different postcode is a bit Hunger Games.

Would understand it if the places weren't strict on the rules, but they are aren't they. They have to be to open.

What ID? I don't have any ID that says where I live. Genuine question, not trying to be smart or anything

Driving licence/provisionals were asked for I believe - well that's what my mate got asked for.

I understand in a way but it just all seems a bit pedantic.

Especially when you can fly off to the Caribbean if you want.
