Turkmenistan is a bit like North Korea. Have you seen the capital? Its extremely modern but the people are very poor. Its a very secretive state and they make it hard to visit as a tourist.

The US hasn't either. Now days people are still not even required to show proof they have taken a Covid test before coming into the country. It makes no sense.

I think his point was that population density shouldn't stop a place tackling Covid effectively. The Dutch have roughly double the population density of here, for instance.

Even advising not to wear a mask when the rest of the world where wearing them , but if course they changed tack far too late on this.

The opinion of some scientists and medics concerning both the herd idiocity and masks was a minority one.
Picked up by right wing supporting media and propagated faster than the virus its self. Obviously the UK government was influenced by it.

Just as a comparison, all of Devon is in Tier 2, and yet has rates much higher than Northwest Wales (Conwy is 82) Meanwhile in South Wales........

Do you know what mechanism is the UK's government planning to implement to verify that people have been vaccinated? Specially since about 75% of people would have to be vaccinated for a country to reach herd immunity.

At the moment here in the US the government hasn't come up with anything creative. The FDA is supposed to be issuing cards to be stamped or something like that but in the age of technology there is not a system in place to issue some sort of confirmation of people's inoculation. Hopefully once Biden comes to office his government would come up with something more efficient.
