It's much more responsible to stay away from crowded areas and go shopping once a week than go everyday but wear a mask.

No, it's another government balls up, I accept that. However, ANY face covering - if all wear them - is a life saver for many people.

Just get a neck warmer on or adapt a scarf or something.

I've got the kids their own carrier bags to wear, should take care of their terrible behaviour over the last 6 weeks the little bastards.

That is the case here in California if you go into a shop or use public transport.

Even for the parks it is recommended although not enforced - hubby just pulls his mask up over his mouth when passing people on his run.

Wife works in payroll she said all furlough payments went on usual payment date as they normally would and her company claim it back from government. Thats what is supposed to happen but if the bar she works at as no money they may only pay when they get it.

That is a problem for pubs. We have been paying furlough since it was introduced but we have still not received the payment from the government. It’s expected any day, but as of today we have not received it. We will continue paying it but I can understand those businesses with cash flow problems who perhaps cannot until the money arrives.....

Wasn't aware of that problem with the furlough scheme. Is it paid on a set day or just a promise of monthly payment?

edit...the councils managed the grant, HMRC are doing the furlough money.....

The thing people need to understand about scientific experts, especially when it comes to politics, is that for every one you listen to and take advice from, there are another 20 just as qualified with varying views and different advice.

Science and scientific opinion is not static, its dynamic and varying, hence nothing is an accepted and never questioned or re-hypothesised, its the eco-system and norm science exists in, it actually drives progress.

The grant seems to fly through, I know a couple of people that applied for their small businesses and the money was in their account within about 3 days.
