Yes.

May I lead you the following statistic: 55,000 killed in 8 weeks.

Get a face covering on and lend a hand.
I work for the NHS. I was setting up testing facilites and ordering PPE when you were telling people not to fall for the Governments hysteria.

Get out and clap for me rather than talking crap on a forum (I'm not really that fussed do what you want).

The grant seems to fly through, I know a couple of people that applied for their small businesses and the money was in their account within about 3 days.

Once we appeared on the list, which is another story, and we filled in the details it was indeed paid within a few days. I thought it was handled by the council quite well tbh and I am full of admiration for the lady that sorted one of ours out in a very customer focused manner......

That is a problem for pubs. We have been paying furlough since it was introduced but we have still not received the payment from the government. It’s expected any day, but as of today we have not received it. We will continue paying it but I can understand those businesses with cash flow problems who perhaps cannot until the money arrives.....
Most businesses would have only applied for the furlough payment after they paid their staff or when their payment was due which i would have thought was the end of April. That was the process at wifes works anyway.

I think those tests are useful to get NHS workers/vital workers back to work, but largely pointless for a general population.

Populist measures and a blag to claim testing is happening.

Only worthwhile tests for the general population IMO, is the blood tests.

Strongly disagree.

Spent most of my weekend on the phone to my elderly uncle who has all the symptoms of coronavirus and because of age/co-morbities is understandably concerned. A quick test that came back negative would have greatly reduced a huge amount of unnecessary, and frankly dangerous, stress for him.

He's not most of the population, is he?

Yes.

What happened to the 50,000 you quoted me an hour or two ago, have another 5,000 just been murdered while Boris is in Parliament giving a statement and answering questions.....

He's not most of the population, is he?
So what, would have been lots of people in same boat - concerned if not for their own health outcomes but for people sharing their house.

It would also have eased strain on 111 calls and doctors - they have spent far more on those checking up on him than a test would have costed.

And what about going forward - does my uncle now assume he had had it or not?
