Any comment on the tens of thousands dead Johnson has caused? Is that all still a joke to you?

Shameful.

What is a joke is your belief that Boris Johnson has deliberately set out to murder his own population, while giving an absolute free pass to the real perpetrators.

I see that more incriminating evidence of China hiding and lying about the virus is coming to the fore. Any comment on the fact that this virus came from China and that they continue to deliberately hide and destroy evidence....

Shameful really.....

If you're in debt and can't address it through other means you don't really have much choice, although the Tories shouldn't have wasted so much money on pointless wars that have achieved very little.

I'm no fan of austerity but I don't believe the Tories are to blame for it, I don't think they had much choice, not unless you believe in running up huge debt.

The tories have reduced the deficit so I don't understand what debt they have built up that you're talking about, unless you're refering to the current crisis. They'll have to raise taxes to pay for the stuff currently.

They’ve run up more debt than Labour did though, and that was before the crisis hit.

All the deficit narrowing that took place 2010 to 2019, which is the one achievement you and the rest of the shower point to so often, has resulted in is that we’ve had to pay far more now than we would have previously to cope with this disaster.

Of course that was a deliberate result of where they put the cuts - not on dealing with PFI, outsourcing, contracting etc, or expanding social housing to reduce HB payments. where they actually would have saved fortunes for the taxpayer. Doing that would have resulted in less donations!

I can't work out if you're a Tory or not

Think its because they are usually quite big mate so easier to social distance.

I imagine smaller shops will also open soon as less people tend to use them than your standard chain/brand stores

Local garden center started taking online and by phone orders for pick up about a month ago. The person drives up and the employees load the plants into the car.

Go and research what the national debt was at the point the WORLDWIDE CRASH happened in 2008, and how much Labour had increased the national debt by during their previous 11 years of Govt.

Then when you’ve got that figure. See what the national debt was in 2010 when the Tories got back in, and then what it is now.

When you’ve done that, come back to me.

Thanks.

Dave is being needlessly extreme there, but Boris has botched this massively imo. And botching it has cost thousands of lives.

Without doubt we have screwed up. Cabinet, Civil Service, NHS, PHE, CMO, CSA, the lot of them...from PPE to sending old folk back to the care homes to reinfect others, it hasn’t shown up the U.K. in a good light. But we are where we are and how we come out at the end is what counts. This disease and it’s effects have either been grossly underrated, by government and most of us on here, or grossly overrated, by Ferguson and the wild eyed media. We need to calm down a bit, stop trying to score political points, get the media and its outlets to behave a bit more responsibly, stop this ‘murderer’ nonsense and use what we have now learnt to deal with this virus. It’s worth remembering that no one, not even Germany, truly understood what was happening. The world knows a little bit more now, so we shall have to see how it goes......

Angela Giuffrida: Antibody testing at a hospital in Lodi, the province in Lombardy where the first domestic transmission of coronavirus was detected in Italy, has shown that 20% of health workers had contracted the illness without knowing.

The hospital, where Italy’s ‘Patient 1’ was treated, is the first to complete serological tests on all of its 2,243 staff as part of a region-wide programme. In addition to the 296 staff who had tested positive for the virus up until 8 May, 77 had been infected but showed no symptoms.

The antibody testing programme got underway across Lombardy on 23 April, with 33,306 people so far tested, of which 25,331 are healthcare workers.

Lombardy is the region of Italy most severely affected by the virus, accounting for almost half of the country’s 30,395 fatalities.
Similar to the study done in Heinsberg Germany which found 20% of people to be asymptomatic

just looked on wikipedia Gordon Brown payed out £850 billion to bail out the banks due to the financial crash of 2008.
So I think it stands to reason that, if he did not we would not have had austerity. We simply could not let the banks
fail. But under capitalism we should have let them fail.I'm confused.com.

Not sure if anyone else has picked up on the UK governments change of political language in the last week, as a pet amusement i used to count how many times a minister used to say "protect the NHS" as a mantra during the daily briefings.

As the worm has turned due to the PPE crisis & health care professionals started dying - unions, representative organisations, high profile health care professionals and the media have turned on the government handling of this and the death toll has hit its awful figures - the governments political mantra has changed in the last week.

They no longer roll out the of the stock "protect the NHS" or rather dont try and align themselves behind and use the NHS "heros" as a stalking horse anymore.

Its gone from this:

Now to this (cut and paste?):
