I can see why you'd say that: oppose it and the frustration goes onto Labour in the short term and pressure lifts from the murderous government.
However, the LP have to take unpopular decisions for some in order to remain consistent on the need for a national consensus on easing lockdown. They cant back any current Tory plan; the trade unions are up in arms against proposed measures to open up again.
If the LP completely oppose this lifting then they'll be principled and reap the political benefit when, not if, it all goes arse up on lockdown easing.
In spirit Labour can’t oppose a lifting of restrictions in my opinion mate, but they can argue on the timeline, they can come upwith a delayed detailed road map, the UK are three weeks minimum in my opinion And if I was Labor I’d be working on it and releasing it on Sunday as theTories are doing theirs. Pointing out the clinical reasoning behind it and the failed reasons why the UK are three weeks behind the rest of Europe, why the curve hasn’t been flattened.
I don’t think Boris is daft enough, to release a plan on Monday and have people going back to work Monday, it’s just bananas, with no workplace prepared. Public health nightmare. It will be token showmanship. Misdirection.
Labor need to tap in to and find a balance between meeting the nations two contrasting emotions, fear and anger/frustration. It’s possible with a reassuring but non draconian reasonable clear alternative road map.
