TBF that is a massive whitewash of an article; Cummings both the man who favoured the herd immunity policy / old people dying and the man who banished it from our midst. Johnson never liked the idea of herd immunity apparently. A government determined to do its best to protect the country even though they admit there that they considered 100000 deaths acceptable, and with time to prepare even though nowhere does it says that they actually did. Rishi Sunak not one of the people who only spends 15 minutes on a problem, spending a whole 30-40 minutes on it instead. Noone is to blame.
yep I read that article as an attempt to save Johnson, he is the PM and if he doesn't like the language or the policy he can do something about it to save lives and not just bend over for cummings and his weird think tanks

My brother in law and my nephew got it too, fever came first then the cough which weren't all that bad then the aches and pains but after day 5-6 both feeling great now.

Well I’m glad they’re feeling better and fingers crossed for everyone in that situation .

surely though part of the problem is we don’t know whose got it do we ? I’m in no way saying they haven’t got it but we don’t really know because of testing so once people recover it’s entirely possibly in some cases it’ll have been the flu , another virus or whatever and they can still be susceptible , infectious or whatever .

True that, the aches and pains were the worst symptoms he said, never felt anything like it.

I'm still on the tubs I bought tbf. I'll get off them then after I've finished and see the difference (if there is any).

Fish Oil/Omega 3 I take as I don't like fish so it's the best source for me to get it from.
Fish oils good for your joints and inflammation if you run a lot

great news.

I'm not really sure how I feel about skys coverage, they seem to be promoting the worst case scenario as the norm. Part of me thinks the idiots in the country need to be scared in to behaving with some social responsibility, and part of me thinks their promotion of the virus as a definitive death sentence for all is very wreckless

Had the same myself the last week or so minus the aches and pains, considering I never get sick I wonder if it was a mild case of the corona. Shame testings not more readily available so you can know for sure

I think we have been panicked into a complete shutdown. The selfish and quite disgraceful scenes at supermarkets says it all. Of course it’s worked out well for some. in France, Macron no longer has the yellow vests to worry about. Everyone has a perfect excuse to close borders. Draconian powers are being granted to governments and eagerly supported by a cowering population. And yet, as we all watch in panic that another 50,60, 70 per day have died, we forget about the other 1500+ that died in the same day. Remember too all the other viruses, Bird Flu, Sars etc etc that were going to wipe us out, but somehow didn’t, yet now we rush headlong to destroy the economy, the only thing that actually keeps us going, as well as our sanity.

I will get a letter tomorrow telling me that I must stay indoors for 12 weeks and the Police will be given authority to arrest me if I venture out. This is not life, this is absolute cowardice driven by the media. Boris has caved in to the ‘if you do something you can’t be blamed’ crowd. He should have stuck with the advice of the CMO and CSA and given two fingers to the media, and the calls for lockdown.

Many on here have been doom mongering about falling off a cliff edge with Brexit, but that will pass so smoothly now because no one will even notice any difference and at least we won’t be picking up the bill for the absolute financial turmoil that will hit Europe. We will be far too busy trying to recover from this ridiculous decision to close our economy....
I think you're wrong on this Pete. There is a reason why every country, regardless of their political make up, is going into lockdown with this. There are a lot of very intelligent people making the decisions, or at least advising the decision makers. All the worlds top brains. Do you really believe they are all wrong and you are right?

The economical repercussions of the decisions being made are massive, and it will take years for the world to recover. But if this thing was left to spread unattended, then our hospitals would no doubt already have been overwhelmed, and ultimately many will die without access to the right medical attention. Those numbers could very easily include you, me and both of our good ladies. Indeed, that is what will most certainly happen in many countries who don't have the medical infrastructure that we do.

At the end of this I expect many more people to have been affected economically, than those who have lost loved ones. If we didn't take these measures it would be the other way around. It's a double edged sword, and it would be a very harsh individual who would put the economy first at the expense of peoples lives. Even hard liners like China haven't done that.

What's wrong with vitamin supplements amigo? I use them, no idea if they work. Impossible to say

There was a massive study done a few years back. No benefit for vitamin supplementation unless you have a deficiency.

Nothing horribly wrong with taking them so long as it’s kept to recommend daily allowances as many are very toxic if you get too much.
But nothing good will come of it either so a waste of money and could give a false sense of security.

Did they self isolate? How many people did they infect. How many of those are going to die?.

Vitamin D is given by sunlight. With people indoors and reluctant to see doctors, there's no harm in taking up to 100 micrograms to make sure. Any more than that can lead to toxicity.

Zinc is also proven to be effective in reducing duration/severity of the common cold.
