it seemed so likely that the herd immunity stuff was Emanating from a fan of eugenics like Cummings . I Hope a lot of older voters , even some on here jump on that , they wont though .
So as this thing takes root in our society I think one key defining point will be the extent to which people feel personally threatened and at risk.
What i mean is say if a 40yr healthy man gets the virus early on, has mild or negligible symptoms and then gets over it. Can they get it again? Can they act as a carrier and pass it on to someone else?
It seems if the answers above are no and no then that type of person (and it could be a 18yr old girl or a 65yr old man) either is not going to want to stay locked up or, as a country, could be used better on the frontline services.
Any thoughts?
same here , one has a wife with cough and sore throat been off for a week self isolated, and has been in work doing overtime for 3 days, no respect for his workmates or the people he meets in his job, says as he mostly on his own its the same as isolating the greedy soft b, so somebody can die so he can get a few hundred in the bankI've been in work this weekend and a couple of the lads here are sniffing and coughing. I told them they were massively irresponsible for coming in.but there answer was they didn't wanna miss out on overtime. They'll just take next week off instead. Its because of morons like this that we are in big big trouble. Good luck everyone
They'd still be able to actively carry it. It can transmit on a number of surfaces so without the ability to clean themselves and everything they touch before and after contact then it's still very spreadable.
There have been reports of reinfection but not from scientifically backed data as far as I know. And I'm no expert at all but does the increase in spread and reproduction lead to an increase in likelihood of mutation?
That’s weirdly arousing. One way I suppose to self isolate.

I think we have been panicked into a complete shutdown. The selfish and quite disgraceful scenes at supermarkets says it all. Of course it’s worked out well for some. in France, Macron no longer has the yellow vests to worry about. Everyone has a perfect excuse to close borders. Draconian powers are being granted to governments and eagerly supported by a cowering population. And yet, as we all watch in panic that another 50,60, 70 per day have died, we forget about the other 1500+ that died in the same day. Remember too all the other viruses, Bird Flu, Sars etc etc that were going to wipe us out, but somehow didn’t, yet now we rush headlong to destroy the economy, the only thing that actually keeps us going, as well as our sanity.
I will get a letter tomorrow telling me that I must stay indoors for 12 weeks and the Police will be given authority to arrest me if I venture out. This is not life, this is absolute cowardice driven by the media. Boris has caved in to the ‘if you do something you can’t be blamed’ crowd. He should have stuck with the advice of the CMO and CSA and given two fingers to the media, and the calls for lockdown.
Many on here have been doom mongering about falling off a cliff edge with Brexit, but that will pass so smoothly now because no one will even notice any difference and at least we won’t be picking up the bill for the absolute financial turmoil that will hit Europe. We will be far too busy trying to recover from this ridiculous decision to close our economy....
“A couple of pensioners” who have probably paid into the system their whole lives.
It’s terrifying to think what becomes of us once we reach retirement. We are no longer seen as relevant human beings simply because we can no longer contribute to the system.
I only hope his parents don’t contract this virus, I highly doubt he would just see them as just ‘a couple of pensioners’ dying.
Sack the [Poor language removed].
